A/N: This can be read as a standalone, but is the sequel to Apologies.

Correspondence

It was strange still to Harry. He couldn't understand why he was doing it, only that it made the lonely summer more bearable. Harry Potter had begun a correspondence with his once former rival, Draco Malfoy.

Draco only again offered his hand in friendship and Harry accepted. The letters were terse and awkward at first but progressed into a friendship. They still fought but not with the animosity as before. Draco visited Harry on his birthday and they spent the day at the park by the Dursley's. They talked, they laughed, they enjoyed the carefree company of each other before school started and they had to go back to the mapped out lives – Draco with the Death Eaters and Harry with the fight against Voldemort.

"I'll see you soon Harry," Draco said as he was readying to depart home. He shook Harry's hand and held on longer than necessary. Harry felt his face heat as Draco held onto his hand.

"Thanks for today Draco. See you September first." He smiled at the Slytherin boy. And let some strange magnetic pull bring him towards Draco in a friendly hug. Draco was stunned but hugged harry back lightly. With one last shared smiled, Draco turned and sauntered off.

Harry sat in a compartment with Ron and Hermione as per usual.

"How was the rest of your summer Harry?" Harry blinked at Hermione as flashes of Draco's letters and visit skittered across his conscious thought.

"Not too much you know, just the same really," he half lied. Hermione didn't look like she fully believed him but left it alone as she turned toward Ron.

"Where are you going?"

"I'll be right back," Harry told Ron.

"Well don't be too long we're almost there," Hermione called. Harry just nodded as he made his way to where Draco usually sat with his friends. Armed with his invisibility cloak and some Instant Darkness powder, Harry set his plan to surreptitiously see Draco into motion.

"Get down from there Potter. Yes, I know you're up there," Draco drawled. Slowly Harry came down from his perch on the luggage rack.

"How'd you know I was up there?" Harry laughed nervously.

"Who else would use something from that Weasley store? Plus, I saw my trunk move. Very smooth Potter." Draco spelled the window covers shut.

"Draco, we're still friends right?"

"Of course."

Draco closed the gap between them and grabbed Harry's face gently. Harry's eyes widened then closed as Draco's face inched closer yet. They kiss was tentative yet assertive, gently yet passionate, slow yet fast. Draco pulled away slightly, eyes locked onto Harry's half lidded ones. Their lips were slightly parted.

"C'mon, we're already late," Draco breathed. Harry nodded slightly as he leaned in for one last kiss.

"I'll see you at dinner then," Harry said softly as Draco opened the door to the exit. He inclined his head ever so slightly and secured his haughty Slytherin mask, continuing the hateful façade.

A/N: Yes, I do realize this can be developed further but I like to try and leave these as snippets of time, much like photographs. If so desired, I can try to put all of these drabbles together so they maybe make more sense, but they can all be read by themselves as I mentioned before.
