After everyone got home from Christmas Caroling Monk went into the kitchen to get some SEARIA SPRINGS water. Sharona followed him.

"Adrian," she said, "we have to talk"

"Shoot," he said, "Well not literally because it's against the law… I think. I haven't been a cop for awhile but I still think it's against the law"

Sharona laughed.

"I really don't understand your behavior a few days ago," she said.

He sighed deeply.

"Now don't get me wrong," she said, "I'm so grateful for everything but I want to understand…"

"What was so wrong with the way I acted anyway," he asked.

She forced herself to remain patient with him. He really didn't understand.

"Adrian, do you remember the worst time in your life?"

"Only ever day of my life"

"Well I was going through a rough time and you treated me like I was some stupid kid who's feelings didn't matter… not that I'm saying that children's feelings don't matter."

Monk knew she was right. He did treat her like she was a stupid kid and her feeling's didn't matter. But he had never been good with feelings, not since Trudy died and she was a bit insensitive not to mention she called him insensitive. Besides that she completely ignored what he had said and made it clear she was ticked off. The loud music, the rearranged items, going to the bathroom when she wasn't scheduled to—

"But you ignored me," he said, "I couldn't even enforce it"

"No but you did enforce hurting my feelings. I mean when I said pass the cake you said, "NO DON'T PASS IT," and looked at me and said, "YOU'RE GETTING TOO FLABBY ANYWAY"

Monk had to admit that wasn't the smartest thing he could have said.

"Sharona I just… felt like everything was out of control and I didn't know how to handle that"

"And Dr. Kroger is another beauty," she said, "telling you that it wasn't your fault!"

"He didn't say that. He said that not everyone has great communication skills"

"That's for sure. I felt like you didn't even care about me anymore"

"Maybe I just can't understand what it's like when the shoe is on the other foot," he said

"Well maybe you should," she suggested

"Easier said then done," Monk replied, "I have a very precise way about me"

"I could never have guessed," Sharona said sarcastically

"Trudy one time grounded me from cleaning and I thought I was going to fall apart at the seams by the end of the day," he said

Then it made sense to Sharona.

"She's always been the glue that holds you together hasn't she?"

"She always is," Adrian said, "and flying solo is hard for me. I try to follow her"

"Follow yourself," Sharona said, "You're not as stupid as you believe you are"

AN: Okay so TECHINCALLY he didn't apologize. I was going to have him do so but I thought it would be too forced. However he did apologize in his own way.
