A fist pounded into the wall repeatedly. Red spots of blood splattered on the grey stone, a dark contrast that seemed so complimentary. Chocolate brown bangs framed a strong jaw and a scarred face. Even though the man wore leather gloves, they still ended up shredded on his clenched fists.

This was Leon's form of stress relief. This was how he let out all his pent up anger, the negative emotion he locked inside; it all left his body this way.

Every time he left, the others would worry. He knew they did! They moaned at him and tried to persuade him not to go. He would come back with another bruise or scar to add to his collection. It reminded Leon of someone… someone who kept to himself but looked as if he needed help. It might have been the hair that stuck in his mind, the extravagant hair. The blonde hair was messy, but in a controlled way. It wasn't long, but it wasn't short; yet it still managed to stand up on its end. Everything about that man seemed to contradict itself!

Leon knew the man a little, watched from afar as he walked around in his little bubble. It was like there was a constant cloud of darkness around him, it made Leon jealous.

Hell had claimed the man he watched, but hadn't kept him…

So, his curiosity eventually took a hold of his actions. He walked up to the blonde, not even knowing his name, and stood with him. He stood next to the enigmatic man and looked out across the night's sky. A sense of… peace started to form in his body. The tension that he had felt before melted away. Leon blamed that blonde. He blamed the silence that felt so right between them, the atmosphere that wrapped him in a secure blanket. It comforted him, and the sweet green eyed girl who nodded her approval of his company. A small smile graced his lips and a shadow lifted from his storm-coloured eyes.

A warm, gloved hand gripped his fore arm gently. It wasn't anything special, just an understanding… a sign that they shared something. It was a confirmation that the other was there, in flesh and blood. Bright blue-green eyes said it all. I don't want to be alone. Neither do you, right?

For the first time in years, the blonde smiled. They still didn't know the each others names. Leon smiled too himslef a little. No... I don't.

From the dark of the shadows, Aerith watched. She smiled, her eyes shining, as Leon and Cloud stood together. Her knowledge of the two men made her see that they would help each other. It would take them some getting used to, but… she had faith that it would work.

"Cloud... Leon... Take care of each other." The wind seemed to answer as it made the trees in the courtyard nod.
