Author's Note: This is my first venture into Wicked fanfiction, so please, don't flame me too badly. Just little ones if you feel the need if you don't mind. I don't think this is my best work, but I tried. I'll work on it. So, this was inspired by Josh Groban's song "So She Dances." I hope you enjoy it!
Disclaimer: Not mine. But if wishing could make it happen…
Yawning, Fiyero wandered over to his window as a cool breeze swept inside his room. As he surveyed the grounds, he thought about the massive amount of homework he had yet to do, then shrugged it off. Turning to go to bed, a flash of movement outside caught his eye and made him stop to figure out who was out of his or her room so late at night.
Watching carefully, he saw a young woman moving slowly in the night, her movements curiously rhythmic. He focused even more on the mysterious girl and saw that she was dancing, albeit it was certainly a strange dance he had never seen before. Passing her off as one of the odd students he didn't associate with at Shiz, he started to go back to bed, but that thought quickly exited his mind when the sudden sight of green skin under the moonlight appeared.
Fascinated, he watched as Elphaba danced in the moonbeams, her arms and legs moving in a graceful pattern; he recognized some of the movements from the Ozdust that fateful night when she had danced in the middle of the ballroom floor, completely unaccompanied by any music. But, as he gazed down at her, he realized that she had been completely closed off from anyone around her when she had danced then; however, now she moved with complete abandon, opening herself to the elements and reveling in them.
He was unable to tear his eyes away, and as she picked up her pace and began to whirl around even more wildly, his mind drifted to how her ebony hair moved with her, the freed locks flying through the air. Her green skin captivated him as the moon created a pearly sheen around her, making her appear as an ethereal vision descended from heaven. A sigh escaped from his lips, snapping him out of his trance. Suddenly, Elphaba stopped dancing, looking around her wildly as though she was afraid of someone finding her; then, she ran off, leaving behind only an empty space where her light feet had just left their imprints.
Frowning slightly, Fiyero closed his window and crawled into his bed, hoping that maybe she would come back again on a different night so he could watch a beautiful angel dance in the moonlight.
