Harry stood as she sat on the bench in the park. '5 years,' he thought, 'I left her for five years. What did I expect? But I did what I had to do. I can live with this as my reward if...'

"Ginevra, I have 3 questions for you," Harry said to her as he took the hand of the lovely woman he had vowed to protect. He knew she would instantly know how important this was to him. He was one of the only people she had ever allowed to call her by her full first name. Before he left as a full Auror to help "clean up" as the ministry worded it he called her Ginevra when it was just the two of them. It conveyed the intimacy they shared; it showed the trust and hope they had. It held the promise of a future together. Most of all it was when they were most open to each other.

Ginny took a deep breathe. "You can ask, but you may not like the answers. I'm with Stephen now." Yet she let him keep her hand for the moment.

"I just need you to be honest with me. Ginevra, are you happy with the life you have now?"

"Yes, very much so," she replied simply, yet Harry could see the honesty in her face. Her expression wasn't just radiant honesty though. Her face also betrayed her deep concern for his feelings. One did not, could not, merely forget the time they spent together.

Harry smiled back a her with tears forming in his eyes. "Ginevra, do you love him?" He knew the answer already but he needed to hear it for himself.

Ginny paused a moment before replying, yet it on strengthened her words. She looked Harry in the eye and said "Yes, I do."

Harry smiled at her with a watery smile as he kissed her hand.

"Are you alright, Harry?"

"I will be, Ginevra," he replied as he blinked back the tears that were threatening to fall. His smile, however, didn't falter. Harry took a deep breathe. "Ginny, will you let me know when you marry him?"

Ginny's face clouded with confusion. This was the last thing she expected. She figured he would ask her to leave Stephen and come back to him, begging her to return once again. Her thoughts seemed to be confirmed when he asked the first two questions, but this third question shocked her. Perhaps she miss heard him. "What, Harry?"

"Will you let me know when you marry him," Harry repeated, "So I can properly congratulate you?"

Ginny was speechless. She knew he still wanted her, but she had moved on.

"Ginny, if you're happy and you've found someone you truly love and who makes you happy then that's enough for me. That's all I wanted to do for you, and if I can't be the one you love, if I'm not one who makes you truly happy, then I want you to be with the one who does." His tears began to fall. "So when you marry him will you let me know?"

"Of course, Harry," she replied in a voice just above a whisper as her eyes began to fill with tears.

"Thanks." Harry took a deep breath. "Goodbye, Ginny Weasley." He turned and walked away as his tears streamed down his cheeks. He would never call her Ginevra again. His relationship had changed forever and he knew it at last. She was happy and free and he knew she could live without the fear of war over her. The only reward Harry Potter ever wanted was for Ginny to live happily in love in a world at peace.
