Just finished City of Glass. It was FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC.

This is my first Mortal Instruments attempt so I would very much enjoy some feedback. Please?

I don't own the Mortal Instruments.

His stele traced across the tan skin slowly but surly. Alec didn't want to mess this up. His concentration was acute and his movements precise, perhaps a bit too much for the given situation but that didn't matter to him.

Magnus mattered to him. One line off and the rune was no good, it would curse its bearer -after all its bearer wasn't a Shadowhunter, just a Downworlder. But that didn't matter to Alec, not anymore.

He's not really sure if it ever had, or if perhaps, Jace was right after all. He wouldn't be surprised, Jace was often right -a point the blond hair boy never ceased to point out, vain as he was.

When the rune was complete, Alec looked up. Deep blue eyes met cat eyes -eyes that Alec could never read correctly.

A heavy dread settled on his chest when he glances back down at the rune -a simple knot of sorts. They were going off to battle -to war. They could die tonight.

Alec had always had to deal with death, hell Max had just died a few nights ago. But, standing in front of the warlock who had told Alec he loved him the thought seemed to strangle him a bit. His chest constricted at the thought of seeing Magnus lying lifeless on the ground.

Suddenly -so suddenly that Magnus didn't even see it coming- Alec pressed his lips the warlocks. Right in the middle of Accords Hall.

Even though Magnus froze in surprise it didn't matter. It didn't even matter that Alec's parents were watching.

Nothing mattered besides the fact they were together, alive… at least for now anyway.
