It was a sunny day in Johto. People were out walking, playing and training pokemon. There wasn't a cloud in the sky. It was a perfect day…
"PIKACHU, THUNDERBOLT!" Ash yelled.
"Not so fast!" Jessie yelled "Wobbuffet, Reflect!".
Ash, Misty, and Brock, however, were fighting Team Rocket. Again.
It had all started when Meowth had spotted Misty from afar. They had gone over to the twerps in an attempt to steal Pikachu, and, as always, had ended up in the middle of a heated battle.
"Vulpix, try using Overheat!" Brock suggested.
"Staryu, use Water Gun" Misty commanded.
"Victreebel, Vine Whip, quickly!" James warned.
"Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" Ash yelled.
"Wobbuffet, Counter Attack!" Jessie urged.
"Steelix, use Crunch!" yelled a feminine voice.
Ash looked up.
"Steelix?" he asked, confused. He didn't remember Team Rocket having a Steelix.
Everyone looked around, confused. In the end, it was Jessie who spotted who had yelled out.
"Who is that?" Misty asked.
James gasped.
"Attila! Hun!" he exclaimed.
It was indeed Attila and Hun who Jessie had spotted. They were standing on a ledge not far from Team Rocket, Ash and his friends. Attila was looking furious, and Hun looked calm.
Brock took one look at Hun, and went berserk. He ran up to Hun.
"My goodness, I have never seen a more beautiful woman in my life! Please go out with me! No, we should just marry now!"
Attila looked amused. Hun however, looked furious.
"You do realize I'm a male, right?" he said, glaring at Brock.
Ash and Misty looked horrified.
"Oh, that explains why my heart wasn't beating furiously..." Brock realised "My mistake!"
It was at this point that Hun slapped Brock in the face.
Instead of looking pained, however, Brock looked concerned.
"Were you trying just now?" he asked genuinely.
Hun blushed and attempted to hide behind Attila, who was on the ground, he was laughing so hard.
"Hun, haha, Hun he got you good! Ha! You really, haha, need to act, hahaha, more like a man, ha, if you want, haha, to avoid, haha, that happening again! HA!"
Hun cringed.
Oh god, Attila's right...
Misty looked at Attila and Hun, confused.
"Who are you two, anyway?" she asked.
Hun walked over to Misty, still blushing. He looked down shyly and tried to make himself as small as possible while standing.
"I'm Hun, and that's my partner, Attila. We are high ranking agents of Team Rocket."
"I can see why." Misty said sarcastically, looking at Attila, who was still recovering, then looked at Hun, who looked as weak and adorable as a kitten.
God, I'm ruining Team Rockets reputation!
"Well, Hun, how are things going for you?" Jessie asked sardonically.
"Oh, it's fine. The usual." Attila spoke.
"Hang on, if you're Team Rocket also, that means you're going to steal Pikachu!" Ash realized.
"Only twerps do stuff like that! And you three, don't kill me!" Attila added when Jessie snarled at him.
"But it would be good practice." Hun muttered, before snatching Pikachu and leaping high into the air, landing on a Shiny Mega Gengar. Attila threw a Pokeball, and out popped a Skarmory. Attila climbed onto it and flew up next to Hun, who tossed Pikachu at him. Attila caught Pikachu and clutched it tight.
Attila and Hun began to fly off.
"Much obliged!" Hun yelled, before singing some of the lyrics from his favourite song, Elect.
"Sasaru puragu no mama nagarete yo
Tsunagu shikou no naka shibirete iku!
Kawaku kokoro no mama hibikasete
Kooritsuita tainai ni amai denryuu ga nagareta!"
Later on, Hun and Attila were back at the Johto Team Rocket HQ, resting. Attila was sitting in an armchair reading a murder mystery, and Hun was lying stomach down on a couch, listening to different covers of Elect.
Kasane Teto? Hun thought to himself. Incredibly robotic, fits with the song… Meiko? Sounds great! Otomachi Una? Damn, no covers… Seeu?
Hun's thoughts were interrupted by none other than Jessie, James and Meowth, who busted into the room, Jessie looking furious, James looking determined, and Meowth looking deadly.
"What now?" Attila asked, exasperated.
"You think you can take all the credit for stealing the Pokemon we've spent forever trying to steal?" Jessie yelled "Well you've got another thing coming!"
"Excuse me! I was just listening to Seeu Elect!" Hun objected.
"Well your music can wait, Hun!" Jessie yelled.
"I didn't say it was music..." Hun pointed out, surprised..
"I know who Seeu is!" Jessie shrieked.
"Jessie, James, why are you bothering with all this. It's over and done with!" Attila changed the subject.
"We just want a little credit for all the hard work we put into everything!" Jessie shouted.
"I gave you credit when we were talking to Giovanni!" Hun explained.
"...Oh..." Jessie said, processing what Hun had just said.
Meowth jumped onto Hun's seat.
"So ya mean ta boss knows tat we played a role in all tis?" he asked Hun.
"Yes." Hun sighed, opening his eyes.
James looked at Hun.
"Are you alright, Hun? You look a little tired." he asked.
"Tired doesn't begin to describe it..." Hun trailed off.
"Its 1:00 in the afternoon, you shouldn't tired, Hun." Jessie said, stubbornly.
"You'd be tired too, if you were kept up all night by Lucario." Hun muttered.
A Rocket Agent entered the room.
"Attila, Hun, the Pikachu you brought in was the one Jessie, James and Meowth have been trying to steal, right?" he asked.
"Yes, why?" Attila asked.
"Well it's just an ordinary Pikachu." the Rocket agent sighed, tossing Pikachu at Attila.
"PIKA!" Pikachu yelled.
Attila blinked in surprise.
"WHAT?!" Jessie and James shrieked.
"I told you guys it was hopeless." Hun said, perfectly calm "Any small electric Pokemon can create a shock just as powerful as what I've seen that Pikachu do!"
"But, but-" Jessie stammered.
"Observe." Hun said, before throwing a Pokeball. A Nest Ball, Attila noticed.
"Static, Thunder, please." Hun asked the Jolteon which had come out of the Nest Ball. Static did so, summoning a huge bolt of lightning, more powerful than any bolt of lightning Pikachu had ever summoned.
Heh...
"Oh..." Jessie said, astounded.
"Do what you want with it." The Rocket Agent said, before leaving the room.
"Attila," Hun started "I feel like we should give it back to the kid."
Jessie grabbed Hun and shook him violently.
"WHY. WOULD. YOU. WANT. TO. RETURN. PIKACHU?" she asked?
Hun stood up and picked up Pikachu, who had been growling at Attila. He simply walked off without saying a word.
Jessie muttered to herself, something about Hun having no common sense.
Hun walked into the storage shed with Pikachu in his arms.
"Hey Mondo!" Hun said.
"Hello Hun!" Mondo said brightly "How are you? Did you need anything?"
Mondo was a young boy with brown hair and grey green eyes. He was very polite and cheerful and he was around the same height as Hun. The two of them were good friends.
"Remember how I asked you if you could take care of those… wings?" Hun asked.
"Oh, you mean the Kasane Teto Cosplay Wings? The ones you tampered with so now they can actually make you fly? Did you want them? I have them right here!" Mondo said, pulling out some huge pink wings.
"Yeah..." Hun said, overwhelmed.
"So why do you need them?" Mondo asked.
"Can you hold this?" Hun asked Mondo, holding Pikachu out. Mondo held Pikachu while Hun put on the wings. When he had finished, Mondo handed Pikachu back.
"I'm needing to return this Pikachu to where it came from. I wanted to use the wings because they're much faster than any of the other equipment here." Hun explained.
Mondo laughed.
"Good idea, Hun!" he said.
Hun hugged Mondo in thanks, then ran out of the shed with Pikachu in his arms. He leaped off a nearby cliff and started plummeting to the ground.
And then the wings activated.
The Cosplay Wings opened up, creating a parachute. Hun adjusted himself to be able to fly with the wind, and soon he was soaring.
He caught a few updrafts, and soon he was as high as the clouds. He glided over the hills. Occasionally he would lose the wind and start to drop, but he would soon find another air current.
After nearly half an hour of soaring high in the sky, Hun spotted Ash, Misty and Brock. It was about time, as Hun was freezing.
He quickly found an air current that would take him down. As he was flying down, he started to pick up speed. Hun had no time to change course, however, because moments later he crash landed into a pile of soil.
Right next to the twerps.
Hun sat up and spat dirt out of his mouth. He spotted Ash and tossed Pikachu at him.
"Pikachu, you're freezing!" Ash cried out.
"Pika pika." Pikachu said, unimpressed.
Hun stood up and shook himself.
"Why are you back?" Misty asked Hun.
"Just to return that thing." Hun said, looking around for a high place to jump from.
"Pikachu is not a thing!" Ash yelled.
"Fine, fine..." Hun said.
The sky was orange from the sunset. Almost no wind could be felt, and even that was not powerful enough. Hun was still freezing.
He sat down, resting his head in the palm of his hand. He began to think.
I don't think flying back is an option. The wind patterns changed so quickly, and it will take forever to get to higher ground. I think my only option is…
Hun looked at the twerps and headpalmed.
Staying with them for the night… oh, goody.
Brock, Misty, Pikachu and Ash sat around the campfire. Ash and Brock were talking, and Misty was trying to get Hun to eat something. Hun was too nervous to eat, he had never imagined that a truce would be necessary.
"Hun, you need to eat..." Misty said kindly, offering him a rice ball.
Hun looked at it and shook his head.
"Oh, Hun, you're acting like a child!" Misty said, frustrated.
"I'm really not hungry, Misty, I'm feeling kind of sick..."
"Sick?" Misty asked.
"Sick of you..." Hun muttered.
Ash and Brock stared at Hun, amazed.
Hun stood up and stretched.
"I'm just going to go for a walk..." he said quietly. He began walking through the forest surrounding the clearing where they were camping. He didn't notice Misty following him.
He eventually found a small stream. He sat on the edge and gazed into the water, which reflected the moonlight.
Misty sat beside Hun, giving him a fright.
"It's pretty, isn't it..." she whispered.
"Yeah..." Hun replied.
"Why did you decide to return Pikachu?" Misty asked.
"Because it was worthless." Hun said.
"OK, but why did you really?" Misty asked, putting her hand on Huns.
"I guess… I guess it's just because I tend to feel sorry for small Electric Type pokemon..."
"Why?"
"Because… Jolteon…"
"Jolteon?"
"I have one. Her name is Static, and she's beautiful."
"I didn't think you'd be so compassionate."
Hun sighed. This is a topic he hated talking about.
I used to be so confident, I didn't care what people thought of me… but ever since I was rated Handsomest Man in Team Rocket… oh arceus…
I remember when Matori asked me out, and I upset her so badly she nearly killed Lillith… I remember Cassidy hugging me so many times I lost count… I remember Jessie making a fool out of me… And Kaori was always there for me, so much that she ignored her own problems… Courtney even fell for me, which upset her boss after she skipped work… and Domino and Wendy getting into that fight over me… I became so upset that I had caused all this, I shut myself away for a while… then became shy… and now, even though I've exposed myself to the outer world again, I still hate talking to people who I don't know that well… I get so embarrassed over the smallest things… They aren't twerps, I am… Lord, why am I suddenly being so emotional?
Misty noticed the tears in Hun's eyes.
"The truth is..." Hun started "I used to be confident and strong, but I shut myself away from the world for a while, and when I was finally ready to come back, I had gotten so weak and shy… That was the bad part. The good part is that I learned how to show empathy and compassion… and I took pity on things that were weak… so, there's ups and downs when you're shy..."
Misty looked at Hun. He had just told her one of his deepest, most meaningful memories, and they hardly knew each other. He was compassionate.
An air current came from nowhere. Hun stood up. This was the right one.
Without a word, Hun ran over to the waterfall nearby. He leaped off the edge, caught the wind, and began gliding sky high.
I'm so confused… I need to think about it…
I was so strong, so confident… then Cassidy and Wendy decided to find out who the most handsome man in Team Rocket was… When I was voted, I knew it would be trouble… and then everyone started freaking out over me, which caused problems… I had caused problems… so in order to stop everything, I shut myself away. I didn't talk to anyone, I hardly came out of my room… being alone made me feel lonely, but I still avoided everyone… I made friends in my mind, but it wasn't enough… and then I saw people for who they really were… I lost trust and began being cautious… so I became shy… I didn't trust them with my memories, so whenever someone quoted something I had told them, or pointed out something I had failed at doing, I got so embarrassed…
So that's why I act like I do…
By the time Hun had finished thinking, he had reached the Rocket Base. Being careful about his landing, he flew down to the ground.
Hun entered his room. Attila saw him, and called out. Hun ignored him, and sat down on his bed. He looked at the moon, out the window to his left.
He remembered how kind Misty had been. He remembered how happy Ash had been to get Pikachu back. He remembered how Brock had apologized multiple times for getting his gender wrong.
I guess I'm not so shy around the twerps…
Maybe because they understand me…
…
Maybe I should join them?
