"Is it recording?"
"The red lights on its going."
Dora smiled from her place on the floor beside her blue haired son who was standing just steps away from her using the chair to hold himself up as he babbled. Remus was holding a muggle video camera that Dora had bought so they could record all of Teddy's newest milestones and today it was his first steps, at least they hopped. Dora looked at Remus sighing as he focused the camera on her.
"Not on me silly on your son."
She laughed shaking her head as he smiled moving the camera so he could see both of them as Dora got their son's attention making him laugh and reach for her with one hand.
"That's it baby come to mama."
She reached out her hand to him and he let go of the chair taking a wobbly step to her making her reach forward a little farther so he didn't hurt himself if he fell. She smiled at him her hair turning a bright pink as he took another step to her fallowed by another and another until he fell into her arms laughing. Dora smiled lifting him to kiss his cheek before helping him wave to Remus who smiled before turning off the camera.

"Let's see okay it's recording!"
Dora smiled as she adjusted the camera on the tripod before sitting at the table beside Teddy's high chair.
"Wave to daddy Teddy."
Dora pointed to the camera then waved laughing as her son smiled and mimicked her waving happily at the camera. Remus had been offered his teaching job back at Hogwarts and seeing as it was now the third week of September that's where he was but Dora promised she'd record Teddy's first words for him to see when he came home.
Dora kissed her son's head making him look at her his hair turning a shocking blue causing her to laugh.
"There's mama's little man, can you say daddy?"
For nearly a week Dora had been trying to teach her son to say Daddy for his first word and once or twice he'd come close to saying it. The boy looked at her as she repeated the word then he tried saying it but it just came out as a jumble of letters. Dora smiled softly and set a few pieces of puffed rice cereal in front of him watching as he ate them as she started to get up.
"Can you wave bye-bye to daddy?"
Teddy smiled and waved as Dora got ready to turn off the camera.
"Daddy!"
Dora froze and turned to face her son hands over her mouth and happy tears in her eyes as she went back to her son.
"That's right baby, daddy!"
Teddy reached his little hand out and placed it lightly on her nose before facing the camera again insisting on repeating his word making his mother laugh as she lifted him and moved to turn off the camera.
"Be thankful I love you so much as to teach him Daddy over mama."
Her voice was teasing and sweet as she waved a final time to the camera before turning it off.
