Hello everyone. It is I, Nvq00, again. Sorry I kept you all waiting. I decided to rewrite the story. It was actually a bit rushed so I wanted to slow down the pace and add a few things. So I hope you all enjoy this newer, better, version.
The King Has Risen
Chapter one: Suspicions
Everyone gathered around the new game's tunnel. Above it, there was a sign with red letters that spelled out: Fix It Felix Jr. calibration complete. Excited chitchatting was heard from the large crowd that surrounded the game. Two small, stocky racers ran out from the group. They wore blue and white matching jumpsuits. Their faces were pale grey and they both shared the same voice. They ran to the Tapper's game tunnel and jumped inside the train. Once they got inside the diner, they searched and found the person they were looking for. A racer with the same outfit as they had, although it was red and white, was drinking a root beer. "Hey, Turbo. The Fix-it Felix Jr. game next to our game is done calibrating. Don't you want to come and see it?" one of the blue racing twins asked.
The racer named Turbo turned to them. "Sure. Why not?" he said with a bored face. He thought it would be okay to meet the new neighbors although, their game didn't look like the kind of type that would interest him. The trio made their way to the new game's tunnel. They carefully waddled to the front of the crowd, which had gotten larger. Turbo crossed his arms casually and waited like everyone else. In a few short minutes, tunnel lit up and a blue electrical charge surged though it. A small train came rolling by. It was shiny and a solid blue except for some designs that looked like bricks, and a small handy man running with a large golden hammer. The trio sprinted at full speed to get first dibs on who would see inside the new game first. The other people though walked to the trolley. The blue twins hopped in the second seat and Turbo jumped on the first seat of the first car. There was a little joystick in the front of the first and last car. Apparently, there was three speeds the train could go. Fast, normal and slow. Of course, Turbo wanted to see how fast this new train could go.
He made sure that everyone was on board before he started the trolley. "Everybody ready?" he asked. The people on the trolley gave him a nod of agreement. He grabbed the handle and rammed it to the Fast setting. The trolley jerked and started off, not at breakneck speed, but quick. Eh, I've dealt with faster, Turbo thought to himself. In exactly three minutes, the characters arrived at the end of the tunnel. They stared in awe at the scenery before them. A black, starry night sky with a gigantic screen that said Fix-it Felix Jr. backwards was high above them. The grass and 8-bit plants were nicely and neatly trimmed. A tall, red, brick apartment building stood proudly, just to the left. Some unknown characters were scattered in front of the building. They waved to their new guests. One of the characters wore a blue hat, collared shirt, jeans, brown gloves, work boots and tool belt with a gleaming gold hammer. He stopped his waving when he saw Turbo and nearly shuddered. Turbo noticed this and looked confused at the small handyman. He looked down at his feet. There's no way that guy shuddered at me. Everyone likes me, right? Suddenly, he and the other people on the trolley got snapped back into reality and a heck of a head rush when the trolley hit the end rail hard. The other characters shouted at Turbo. "Oopsie, I forgot I still had it on fast. Sorry everyone!" he apologized.
Everyone exited the trolley and walked with excitement to the apartment building. Turbo walked up to the blue clad handyman. " Hello, I'm Turbo, your new neighbor from Turbo Time. Pleased to meet ya." he greeted and stuck his hand out to shake. The handyman uneasily took his hand, but plastered on a warm smile, and shook it. " I'm Fix-It Felix Jr. Nice to meet you. Welcome to Niceland." he said in a bubbly, southern accent. "What do you do in this game?" Turbo asked. "I'm the Good Guy who fixes anything Wreck-it Ralph wrecks with my magic hammer." Felix said and took out his gold hammer and showed it to Turbo. "That's some hammer. Can it fix anything? And when I say anything I mean like anything?" Turbo asked. "I guess." Felix shrugged. "Another thing, who's Wreck-it Ralph?" Turbo asked. Felix pointed behind him. " He's our Bad Guy. He wrecks the building so I can fix it." Felix explained. Turbo craned his neck to the direction Felix was pointing to. He saw a big, BIG figure on a pile of bricks. No one was around him. He wore a red plaid shirt and burgundy overalls with a snapped strap. He had auburn hair and gigantic fists. He looked at Turbo's direction with what looked like a scowl. Turbo yelped and turned back to Felix. "Oh shift, he saw me!" he squealed softly in fear. "It's okay. He's actually really harmless." Felix reassured him. "Really?' Turbo asked. Felix nodded. "Oh." Turbo calmed down. So did Felix. Maybe this guy isn't so scary after all, despite his appearance. Felix thought.
"What do you do in your game?" Felix asked. Turbo perked up. "Oh, I'm glad you asked. I happen to be the Good Guy of my game, TurboTime, the most popular game in the arcade! I wouldn't blame the gamers. It's a pretty sick game. It's so-" Turbo was cut off when he saw Felix, looking hurt and skeptical. "III meeeaaan, your game is... gonna do great! You guys could be just as popular as my game! Then, we'll be neighbors AND arcade legends, next to Pac-Man." he said nervously and nudged Felix in the arm. "Yeah, well I got other people who want to meet me, so see ya." Felix said somberly. He walked away. Turbo slumped his shoulders and did a facepalm. "Way to go, Turbo. You brag and people start to hate you." he headed to the trolley to leave. Large, bulky footsteps were heard behind him, getting louder and louder until they stopped right behind him. A large shadow loomed over Turbo. He didn't want to turn around but some feeling got the best of him. He looked up at the huge, towering wrecker and gulped. "H-h-h-hi." he stuttered. "Hi. I'm Wreck-it Ralph." he said in a deep voice. "I can see that."Turbo said nervously. "Sorry if I gave you a scare earlier. I saw you looking at me but from a distance you were so small, I had to squint to see you clearly."Ralph explained. Turbo's tension lessened. Even though Felix said he was harmless, Turbo still needed a hands-on experience to make sure it was true.
"What's your name?" Ralph asked. "It's Turbo." Turbo replied. "Ah, that would explain the big red T on your helmet." Ralph pointed at the said letter. Turbo looked up at it and took off his helmet, revealing his jet black, messy, tangled hair. He looked at the T and smiled. "Yeah. It reminds people who I am. The greatest racer ev-" Turbo stopped himself again. "You know what? I'm just gonna go home now. Nice meeting you though!" Turbo jogged to the trolley and didn't wait for the twins. With the shift of the joy stick to Fast, the trolley made it's way slowly back to Game Central station. Oh great, now it's broken thanks to me, Turbo groaned in his head. At that point, Turbo thought it would be a good time to review his day.
I should really stop being so narcissistic. If I'm going to be neighbors with them, I need to be a good friend. I can't keep ranting on about myself. But at the same time, they are going to have to just deal with it. I mean when you're at the top, you need to let everyone know, because you're the best. There are a lot of things that we all don't want to deal with but we have to anyway. I can name a few things, starting with Shift and Drift. Those two are so dumb! Turbo thought.
He remembered what he said to Felix to make sure he didn't think he was a total jerk. Your game is gonna do great! You guys could be just as popular as my game! Then, we'll be neighbors AND arcade legends, next to Pac-Man. Turbo thought about this deeply for awhile. What if they do happen to pass me by? Will I still be able to be played again? Ah, what am I saying! I'm still going to be THE arcade classic. Besides we were only plugged in a few months ago. There's no way this game could become more popular then mine in less than one day. Sure they'll get a lot of gamers on the first day, but what about the next day? And the next? I have nothing to worry about. I have such silly suspicions. Turbo reassured himself.
A few weeks went by and Turbo was eventually right. Fix it Felix Jr. did have a lot of gamers on the first two weeks, but as time went by it was still underneath Turbotime. At this fact, Turbo was satisfied with himself.
However, that all changed when a certain game checked into the arcade.
