I walked down the dirt road that was surrounded by dead, dried up grass. I kicked a rock, scraping my boot sole against the dirt. It was a sunny afternoon, beautiful day.
It didn't feel like a beautiful day though. To me, it felt like there was a big storm, with grey rain clouds and a gloomy white sky. With clear rain drops pouring down hard, and making my mascara run when I looked up. It felt like I was drowning in rain, and looked like crap while doing so. I kicked the rock farther, and farther, until I came to a busted bench. I took a seat, on the wooden fallen apart bench, and used my nails to chip off what was left of the paint. I did this for awhile. Until I heard faint foot steps, that dragged on over the dirt and rocks. I decided not to look up considering my make up was smudged and crusty from crying. I was crying half the way here.
Johnny cheated on me. Johnny as in Johnny Cade, had cheated on me. Surprising right? He had cheated on me with Sylvia.
"Sylvia." I hissed out loud. She had Dallas to cheat on, not help out someone cheat on me. I wasn't mad about that though, I was mad at the fact that he chose Sylvia. I mean anyone else I would have been fine with. But Sylvia, sylvia was a slut, a whore, a two timing little bitch and she crossed the line.
Those dragging foot steps got closer, and got faster.
"Alex!" I heard someone yell out of breath, but I didn't look up.
"Alex!" They yelled again. It was Johnny. I stood up, still not looking up.
"Alex!" He huffed and slowed down
"Alex! Alex! I'm sorry" he spoke weary and out of breath. His voice sounded weak, like he'd been crying. I looked up, and almost broke down. He had been crying. His fragile face covered in wet tears and a little sweat.
He ran up closer to me and stared at me a little.
" Alex, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" His voice croaked. He swallowed, and grabbed my face gently.
"Alex I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He spoke a little gentler. I looked down tearing up.
"I've never ever been in this position before, and I'm never going to be in it again." He said and pulled my face up so I was looking up at him.
"Alex-" he stopped in mid sentence, like he was unsure of what to say or do next.
I looked at him.
The sun was shining against the wet lines of his old tears.
He stared straight into my light brown eyes, and I stared into his dark brown eyes.
He leaned in closer, and closer until our lips were almost touching, then stopped.
"Forgive me." He whispered as a command, then kissed me. As soon as he kissed me, all that rain in my head instantly turned into a sun shining.
He grabbed a hold of my waist as I left one hand in his greased hair, and placed the other one on his cheek.
We slowly pulled away, and I re-opened my eyes.
"I forgive you." I said and we kissed again.
