Okay I have decided to repost this as I had an all-around better idea for it. Wish me luck! :D
Chapter One
"Jane, dear! Hurry up!" I heard Mother call, "We're going to be late!" I sighed, glancing in my mirror, making sure I looked presentable.
I absolutely despised visiting the Ascots. They always treated me as if I were a trouble-making child. I snapped my boots up and dashed up and dashed down the steps of our home. Mother smiled, her curls piled atop her head with a wild had adorning her head, as was her custom.
The butler helped me into my pale blue coat and offering me a hat. I took it and then pulled my gloves on.
"Come along, dear. You know how distressed Lady Ascot gets if everything isn't just so," Mother said waiting for me at the carriage.
"Yes, Mother," I said setting down for the ride.
"Don't look so glum, Jane," Mother said patting my hand. I glanced up.
"They treat me as if I were a girl of five, Mother," I muttered.
"I know, dearest, but bear with me. I have to discuss some business with Lord Ascot." I looked out the window of the carriage.

I sat with mother on the Ascot's veranda, sipping tea with my mother and our hosts whilst they discussed my Father's travels. He was currently in Asia working in the company in my Mother's place. I was board clean out of my mind.
"Jane dear, why don't you go on and explore Lady Ascot's lovely rose garden? They are the talk of England," Mother said, touching my hand.
"Yes, dear, do go and enjoy the labyrinth," Lord Ascot encouraged. I stood and curtsied, politely.
"Thank you for your generosity, Lord and Lady Ascot," I said making my way from the veranda to the labyrinth of roses.
The sweet scent completely enveloped me. I smiled and closed my eyes, focusing on the feel of the wind, smelling the flowers, and hearing a… a strange ticking. I opened my eyes glancing about. My eyes landed on a most peculiar white rabbit in a waistcoat holding a watch and gesturing at it like I was late.
Dear Lord I was losing it. I closed my eyes and shook my head to clear it of these bonker visions. When I looked again the rabbit was gone. Oh great. Officially mad.
I continued to wonder through the garden. I may not enjoy the Ascot's company I loved their beautiful gardens. I wandered past the gazebo and onward to the outer fields of the Ascot Estate. When we were here, I enjoyed visiting the untamed trees. Even though the lush gardens were so lovely, the trees held a luring quality about them.
I sighed at the sweet spring scent the blossoming trees offered.
Suddenly the ticking of a watch attracted my attention to a gnarled old tree. There stood the white rabbit looking straight at me and topping his clock anxiously.
Curiosity was always one of my strong suites. Maybe a pro perhaps a con, but I followed I caught its cottony tail vanishing down a rather large rabbit hole. I leaned over, dropping to my knees braking on the sides of the hole. As if it had a mind of its own, the hole crumbled I found myself falling.
Oh dear. Just like her mother isn't she? Poor Jane. What will she do?
