I thought this up a few minutes ago...eh, that's what happens when you're left alone on a cloudy afternoon, and a can of Sunkist. Heehee...well, I have really not much to say...or type, whatever. Just...enjoy, read, and review.
Disclaimer: I don't own FullMetal Alchemist.
Masquerade. A party, a parade. Everyone in their fancy, beautiful clothes, all hidden behind masks of all shapes and sizes. All was happy, joyous. Young couples danced the night away, eyes sparkling with love. Old men tucked away in corners, smoking their pipes and talking about the good old days. Women who were not dancing with their loved ones sat at small tables scattered around the room, gossiping and whatnot.
Edward Elric watched from the balcony, away from the crowd. He didn't know why he even came to this massacre...or so called, Masquerade party. It was the old duchesses birthday, and everyone was invited...including the Elric brothers. Especially the Elric brothers.
"Brother? Brother, what are you doing out here?"
Edward turned to see where the voice came from. "Oh...Al. Nothing, I'm just...out here."
"...Ah. Well...I just came out here to check on you-"
"Allllllpoooonseeee"
The older Elric brother chuckled. Three girls? Not one, but three girls calling out his brother's name? Alphonse blushed, turning back to wave at the three girls. "Um...they're triplets."
Edward laughed, shooting a playful punch to Al. "Al, you sly dog."
Alphonse shot a frown, rubbing his shoulder. "Brother, you're embarrassing me. I don't..."
But the eldest Elric wasn't listening to his younger brother complain. At that split second, he saw something...something...someone, he hasn't seen...for almost four years.
She bore long, pale blond hair, that flowed down like a waterfall to her lower back. Her green dress glimmered in the ballroom light, casting a radiant glow. Her skin as pale as the moonlight itself. And behind her feathered, black mask...he could barely...barely make out two robin egg blue eyes. He fell silent, and heard nothing but the deep beating of his heart. Winry...is that you?
"Edward, are you even listening to me? Brother...?"
"Uh, sorry, Al. I have to go..."
"Eh? Where? Edward!"
But he payed no attention. All that was on his mind, was her. Alphonse, his triplet fangirls, everyone in the whole room...disappeared. And all that was left...was her.
The closer he got, the farther away she seemed. Winry.
Winry...Winry...wait!
It seemed like forever...
But he was finally there, a wide smile plastered upon his young face.
"Winry, it's good to see you again..." he whispered, placing a hand on her small, slender shoulder. She looked back, a bit surprised by the touch. "Hey you, how'd you get here? What about that old geezer Pinako?"
The young woman frowned, tilting her head in confusion. "Um...I'm sorry, but I think you've mistaken me for someone else..." she said, frowning.
Edward was silent, a light blush visibly showing. "Oh...er...I'm sorry, it just-"
She gasped, surprising Edward by grabbing his hand, shaking it wildly. "Oh my, I just realized! You're Edward Elric! I've heard so much about you...my name's Winry Rockbell, but you can call me Winny, if you'd like." she exclaimed, giggling.
Haha, yeah...really bad ending, I know. Sorry...well, yeah. Bye-bye. oo;
Dodges crazed, rabid EdWin fangirls with chainsaws and food.
