It's been quite a while, everyone. :D
This spawned from the conversation I had with a friend on LJ, then it spilled over into an LJ icon. xD Sooo... I hope you enjoy it.
A Lunch Break Surpise.
The researcher nearly dropped his cell phone. "You're… outside?" It was not often that one could witness a speechless Victor Niguel. It was even rarer that his jaw dropped and he started in shock. Derek tried snapping him out of it by waving his hand in front of Victor's face. Angie tried to talk to him. Leslie prodded him with her finger. And Tyler even joined in; he stepped on his foot. But nothing could snap Victor out of his daze.
Except for the voice on the other end of the phone. "W-Wait a minute! Don't come in! I'll come to you! Just… oh shit! For the love of god and all things holy! Don't come into the building!" The man paused. "…I'm sorry for cursing," he mumbled. "Yes. Iloveyoutoobye." He slammed his phone shut and began to leave the room, but as soon as he opened the door, he was face to face with what he feared.
His coworkers began to snicker.
"Oh! My little Vicky! This is where you work?!" Victor's eyes widened and he paled.
"Mom!" The obviously gleeful woman embraced her reluctant and clearly annoyed son. "Why are you here?"
"You forgot your lunch, silly. I made your favorite lunch. Peanut butter and jelly on white bread. I packed you an extra apple juice." She paused. "Vicky, aren't you going to introduce me to your friends?"
"These idiots are not my friends."
"Victor! It's not nice to call your friends "idiots"! Apologize to them right now!" Victor rolled his eyes, "Victor Niguel." A tone of voice like no other left the woman's mouth, sending shivers down everyone's spine. "Apologize." Victor frowned.
"Sorry, everyone," he mumbled. The older woman's smile materialized once more.
"I packed you some cookies. Honey, are you coming home for dinner?" Tyler could hardly believe his ears, he snickered quietly.
"Hey, Niguel, you still…" he laughed, "You still live at home?" Victor glared.
"I'm looking for my own apartment. How much free time do you think I have on my hands? I'm always here trying to come up with cures and advances on modern medicine."
"And when he's not here, he's at home doing chores! Or at ballet!" At that moment, Victor turned bright red. All of his coworkers collectively tried to stifle their giggles.
"Mom! No more talking! Thanks for lunch! Goodbye!"
"Oh come now, Vicky. That's no way to talk to your mother," Tyler said, biting back a snicker.
"Thank you, young man. Oh my…" She turned to Angie, "You are so adorable! Would you be interested in dating my little Vicky? Sometimes I worry about him; he doesn't seem very interested in women yet." She gasped. "Oh! You!" She looked up at Derek, "If Vicky turns out to be gay, would you take him?" Derek stared for a moment, a bit dazed,
"W-What?" he glanced at Angie, then turned back to Mrs. Niguel, "I'm not- … what?"
"Mom!" Victor hissed, his eyes narrowing to slits.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Niguel," Angie said, hugging her partner close, "Derek and I are already a couple." She snapped her fingers in disappointment.
"Oh well!" Victor was silently fuming. "Victor, I washed your tutu, you have ballet tomorrow at five. And I want you home by seven thirty for dinner. I'm making your favorite, Pokémon macaroni. Cookies for dessert! Oh, your friends are invited too! I'll see you at home, darling!" With that, she handed Victor his lunch and happily walked away, not before blowing him a few kisses. When she disappeared from sight, Tyler cracked up. Victor gave a hard glare.
"…I hate you."
