AN: This is just a random story I found I'd written a couple of years ago. Please comment. I hope you like it.

"Your smile is beautiful. So are your eyes, so are you."
"You've told me all this before," She lowered her head.
"Then it only confirms it's true," he replied jokingly.
He saw her glance at him, then look away.
He placed his hand below her chin and lifted it so that she was staring at him full in the face. "I love you, isn't that enough?"

She stared at him then looked away, embarrassed.
He let go of her. She turned to face him.
"I never quite prepared myself. I never thought I'd see you again. I've never thought of anyone else since. I lost interest in my studies. My parents because worried, I hardly slept and when I did, I dreamed about you."

"I always thought you'd move on. You had always been the most beautiful in the class. Nearly every boy was interested in you, even Mike Newton." A smirk reached his face as he remembered his old friend. He continued. "You were bound to find someone more suited to you, someone who was more worthy of you. But I still wished we could be together.

"I thought of all that time I had wasted while I was with you. I never made the most of my time with you. And I hoped that you moved on. I hoped with all my heart. I knew that I hadn't, you see."
Bella rubbed her eye and brushed away a few tears.

"You never contacted me," she told him. "Everyday I checked my emails, I checked the post. I checked with Alice whether you'd even said my name yet. She said you hadn't. I was hurt. Had every compliment you ever game me been false? Didn't you miss me at all?"
He opened his mouth to say something, but she hastily continued before he could utter a word.

"This continued for years. I felt my heart rip, as if torn in half. I longed to find you and re-claim the other half, for I knew you had it."
"I hoped you would forget me," he replied. "I'm confessing to it now. And I tried with all my heart to forget you too."

She shook her head slowly. "I could never forget you. You were my first love. My only love."

He sighed and ran the back of his hand across her jaw. "As you were mine," he whispered back. Bella felt her knees buckle but she quickly worked to hold herself up. "I love you, Bells." He told her, his lips moving to trace her lips carefully. Bella didn't trust herself to speak. Then, slowly, he leant in then paused. She could feel his cool breath against her chin but she couldn't move. Not even an inch. Finally, he pressed his lips to hers for just a moment, then pulled away.

"Edward," she said, a small smile forming on her lips. "I love you too."
