Angst, a bit yes. There's just so much here. But please read anyway, catharsis, you know?
One More Day
For Gakuto and Hideto

Sho was shaking in his arms, blood sliding freely down his throat as the younger man struggled to breathe. The fluid filling his lungs was audible; Kei didn't even have to use his superior hearing to tell how hard it was for Sho to draw a breath. Gasps escaped him, barely enough air entering his body to continue to support his life.
Kei held him close, stretched across the lap Sho had once fit so well in. But Sho was grown now, far too big to be held like this. The thought made Kei clutch him closer, wishing he could breathe enough for the both of them.
His hand gripped Sho's as the other man reached out for something Kei had never seen. He couldn't let go. Sho had to live. There was still more that they could do. This was supposed to be fun. They were supposed to be having fun just like they used to.
"Sho, don't die!" There's so much we haven't done.
Sho's eyes were fixed somewhere else, denying Kei even the pleasure of having those blue orbs recognizing him now.
"Sho..." Kei cried quietly, gentling his hold on Sho, fear causing his hands to have bruising force. Come on! You can't leave me…
He stroked Sho's hair cautiously, afraid of pulling painfully. Please, only one more day. You can't die now!
The scent of fresh blood surrounded them now but Kei ignored it. Sho's breathing was getting shallower and there was a sallow tint to his skin. He looked so hurt and tired. Kei mumbled nonsense into his hair, petting him carefully.
There were tears in Sho's eyes, welling up and spilling slowly down his cheek, leaving smears in the blood caked on his flesh. Please, Sho, please don't leave me alone.
"It's ok… We can fix this, Sho. You've had worse." He pressed his hand down on the wound in Sho's chest again but there was so much blood, Sho had lost so much already, no amount of pressure could force it back in.
He pressed his cheek against Sho's, trying to calm them both though Sho's expression had become peaceful. Kei shook him a little but he wasn't sure that he was really expecting a reaction. Please, only one more day. Give me one more.
His forehead rested on Sho's shoulder, light breathing sounding against his ear and giving Kei hope.
"Come on, Sho," he pleaded, pressing his face into Sho's neck. Prayers he didn't remember fell from his lips, begging anyone who might be listening for this one small mercy. "Please, we'll have some fun…"
Sho coughed again, his first movement in so long, and a fresh gout of blood slid down his chin and throat. Kei's eyes closed fiercely, focusing on the breath entering and leaving Sho's body, trying to ignore the sweet smell so close to his eager lips. Please, Sho.
His fangs descended, cutting sharply into his lower lip and Kei gasped. He was so close to what his body wanted. What it craved.
Please, just one more day.

They break my heart, but there is so much fun in writing them. Don't worry, I'm working on much longer and more upbeat fics now as well.
