L was going through the security tapes from the tube station: his eyes transfixed on the screen. Infront of him lay a pile of dougnuts, one of his favourite sweet snacks. He reached for one as he saw Ray Pember collapse to the floor on the screen; looking closely, L noticed something.
'He's trying to look back into the train', pondered L, 'someone was on the train... perhaps even Kira himself' Deep in thought, Ryuzaki lifted the doughnut to his mouth but stopped abruptly. He had caught sight of the doughnut. It was... beautiful. L stared at the doughnut, taking in every last inch of its stunning exterior; It had a hard outer shell of icing, protecting the soft innards L loved so. Ryuzaki stared at the doughnut, he saw fear in it's glaze.
'I've killed them', L gasped looking at the now empty plate that was once pilled with pastries, 'his-his family, I've killed them all'. L had never felt such remorse for a doughnut. Staring back at the treat in his hand he brought it close to his cheek and whispered gently to it:
'I'll never hurt you, I promise. I'm sorry', and with that, L gave the doughnut a soft kiss. When he pulled away he felt he viewed what looked like lust in the doughnuts glaze. Ryuzaki gave the doughnut a questioning looked asking whether to proceed, and brought the doughnut back in for another kiss, but this time, more passionate. He closed his eyes, absorbed in the kiss with his true love when he heard a cough behind him.
'R-Ryuzaki?' Matsuda had walked in to see the detective fondling a dessert.
'Oh, hello Matsuda', L spoke casually
'I... just came to bring these', he awkwardly handed over a large envelope, 'well... night'
The door slammed and L turned all his attention back to his lover. 'Our love is no longer a secret... but our passion will still burn deep' he whispered kissing the doughnut once more
