- All TWILIGHT goes to Mrs. Meyer. Inspired by "Lips of an Angel" by Hinder.
It's been three weeks since Charlie and I moved out. Charlie now lives with Sue, after their recent wedding.
And I live with Jacob. My boyfriend.
Even though Jacob and I had been together for about 3 years now, I still thought about… him. I can't even think his name. I do love Jacob. But I couldn't ever feel the same way I felt.
It was late at night, around midnight. Jacob was asleep, had just gotten back from patrol. I heard the phone ring and answered it quickly before it could wake him. Who could it be? Calling this late?
"Hello?" I answered.
"Hi, is this Bella? Swan?"
"Yes it is. May I ask who's speaking?"
"My name is Christy, I just moved into your old house."
"Oh, Hi. Can I help you with something?"
"Sorry for calling so late, but we are changing the floors, in the upstairs bedroom. Underneath the wood, there was a photo album, a CD, and some phone numbers. I figured they must be yours."
My eyes widened. Photo Album. CD. Phone Numbers. They all brought back memories of my 18th birthday.
"Yes, yes. They're mine. Could I come pick them up? They're really special to me." I asked, frantic.
"Of course."
"I'll be there in 5 minutes."
"See you then." She said. I quickly hung up the phone, and put on my jacket. I quietly closed the door, and rushed out into my truck. I drove as fast as it would take me.
Christy was waiting outside. She smiled at me. I got out, not bothering to turn of the truck. She handed me a bag, filled with all the things she mentioned on the phone.
"Thank you so much." I said, "You have no idea how much this means to me."
"No problem, honey. Have a good night." She said, still smiling.
"You, too" I said as I got back into the truck. I drove off into the night.
As soon as I got home, I pulled out the phone numbers. Edwards cell phone. I picked up the phone and dialed the number. I held my finger on the 'Call' button, hesitating. I pressed it quickly. My heart beat faster with every ring.
"Hello?" Said the most perfect voice in the world, still velvet, and dripped like honey. A tear rolled down my cheek.
"Edward." Was all I could say. I felt his breathing stop. He knew exactly who it was.
"Honey, why are you calling me so late? It's kind of hard to talk right now."
"I'm sorry." I said, now sobbing.
"Honey, why are you crying? Is everything okay?"
"Yes. I'm just… I…" I didn't even really know.
"I have to whisper, because I can't be too loud.""Why?" I asked quietly, now remembering that Jake was asleep in the other room.
"Well, my girl's in the next room" Tanya. "But sometimes, Bella. I wish she was you."
"Jacobs in the other room, too. And sometimes, I wish he were you."
"I guess we never really moved on." He spoke. Another tear fell from my eyes.
"I guess not, Edward"
"It's really good to hear your voice, saying my name. It sounds so sweet." It stayed quiet for a second.
"I love you." I said.
"Coming from the lips of an angel, hearing those words, it makes me weak." He said, making more tears fall. "And I never want to say goodbye. And, Bella, you make it hard to be faithful, with the lips of an angel."
"Oh, Edward. I've been dreaming of you."
"It's funny that you're calling me tonight. And yes, I've dreamt of you, too." As he said that, I heard Jake move. I gasped. But then, heard him snore again.
"Sorry." I said, "I thought I heard Jacob."
"Does he know you're talking to me? Will it start a fight?"
"No, Edward. He doesn't. Does Tanya?"
"No, I don't think she has a clue."
I heard another noise. Jacob was up this time.
"I love you, Edward." I said quickly and quietly.
"I love you too, Bella." He said, as I hung up.
