Taking Turns
It is the second Christmas since Aslan was on the move...
A brief festive drabble from Cair Paravel.

It is the second Christmas since Aslan was on the move; the first since the fall of the White Witch. All over Narnia, Father Christmas has been delivering presents, and Cair Paravel is no exception. The only difference is that the four monarchs, at Susan's insistence, have dressed and donned their crowns before piling into their four armchairs around the freshly lit library fire.
Queen Lucy hugs her unopened stocking and looks at Queen Susan.
Queen Susan holds her unopened stocking more carefully and looks at King Peter.
And the High King, his stocking on his lap, speaks for the three of them. "Go on, Ed. You go first."

A/N: I was going to post this tomorrow, for Christmas Eve. Then I realised that at my usual posting time, the Scandinavians would be feasting, while the Australians and Kiwis would be opening their stockings on Christmas morning! So here it is: the last of the Christmas stories!
