"Where is he?" Ino screeched. "Shikamaru has never been this late."
Choji just shrugged and stuffed another handful of chips into his mouth. Ino scowled and attempted to steal the bag, but she instead had her hand slapped away.
Asuma sighed, "He'll be here. And don't complain you've been later than this before."
"But he is a lazy ass," Ino muttered under her breath.
"What was that?"
"Nothing!"
…
Hiruzen sighed as he looked at the three present members of Team 10, "Your missing a Nara also?"
"Missing a Nara?" Choji asked between mouthfuls.
"Shikaku was supposed to come to a briefing for a mission eight hours ago," the Hokage explained.
"Ah."
Ino scowled, "So now they're both lazy asses. I keep on telling my father that their entire family is full of men who can barely motivate themselves to wake in the morning."
"Ino!"
"Sorry Asuma sensei, Choji, but it's true!" the blond defended herself. "You can't deny it, you both know Shikamaru well enough to know that he has almost zero motivation."
Hiruzen sighed yet again, this was troublesome as the missing Nara tended to say, "Well, I can't send you guys on any missions until Shikamaru either arrives or calls in sick, so you might as well wait."
Nodding, Team 10 positioned themselves around the room while the Third got back to the dreaded paperwork. Time passed slowly and they were almost ready to give up and go home when yelps of pain were heard from the hall.
Rushing out, they were met to the sight of Yoshino dragging her husband and son by the ears.
"Sorry," Yoshino explained with a sweet smile on her face, "I spent the day out and when I came home I found Shikamaru where I left him in the morning, and Shikaku was and still is drunk as hell."
Shuddering a little from the Nara's cheerfulness, Asuma saw that Shikaku was clearly intoxicated while Shikamaru was complaining that he had been dragged away from the best day of cloud watching that he had had in a long time.
Hiruzen smiled a little, "You didn't have to bring them here, there will be no more missions today and so everyone is heading home."
"I know, but I want you to give these two at least three D-ranks that they have to do tonight. That is their punishement for being lazy while I was gone," the smile had turned into an evil smirk, much to Ino, Choji, and Asuma's horror.
The Hokage nodded, "That will be alright. The rest of Team 10 may go now."
At that, Ino quickly grabbed Choji and pulled him out of there as quickly as she could while Asuma left at a slightly slower pace.
"Now I know why Shikamaru was never freaked out when Iruka sensei tried to scare us at the Academy," the blond muttered to her teammate.
Choji nodded, "I heard that she can get worse than that."
Behind them, Asuma paled slightly, having heard their conversation, 'She can get worse?'
Shikamaru: You made me do work at night?
double1squad: Yep!
Shikamaru: Troublesome, I guess I'll have to leave to stop you from making me do the same things as I would ave done in the story. *Disappears through door*
double1squad: *Blinks* I didn't know he could move that fast without being forced. Oh, well. I guess I will be writing again soon, but please review in the meantime! Bye!
