Summary:"Think about positive stuff. You didn't have the best upbringing, you were a jerk throughout our school years, joined the Death Eaters, almost killed our headmaster, and yet here you are at the age of twenty two with a family of your own. That doesn't sound terrible to me! You have a wife who loves you, a good job, great friends and a home to live in. What more could you ask for, Draco?" DMHG drabble.
Draco and Hermione Malfoy lay side by side in their room. Draco had his arm around Hermione's waist and her head was against his chest. "Sometimes its hard to believe I was such an asshole to you", said Draco, breaking the silence.
"It is", agreed Hermione. "But whenever I see how far you've come in the last few years..."
"You thank Merlin that Voldemort's gone?" offered her husband.
"There's that and also the fact that I got the chance to know you and had the honour to become your wife."
"I'm a better man now. I only wish I could have been like this when I was young. I needed my parents' guidance but they were too engrossed in their master's world to give a shit about me. If they'd cared at all, I wouldn't have turned out as fucked up as I am."
"Draco..." sighed Hermione.
"What?" he said defensively. "That's the truth. No need to deny it."
"Think about positive stuff. That doesn't sound terrible to me! You have a wife who loves you, a good job, great friends and a home to live in. What more could you ask for, Draco?"
"A House Elf?" he asked.
There were no elves at the Manor, which was Hermione's doing. Draco hadn't liked this development but there was nothing he could do to change the Gryffindor witch's mind.
She swatted his arm. "I'm serious."
"So am I", he said.
There was a pause.
"We have everything we ever wanted", said Hermione all of a sudden.
"Not quite", said Draco, sitting up.
"What don't we have?"
He shrugged. "A kid. Ginny and Blaise have two whereas we have none."
She blinked in surprise. "You want a... a baby?"
"Don't you?"
"Of course I do!"
"Well then", he grinned. "It's settled. Put a Silencing Charm on the door. Tonight, we're making a baby."
"Are you ready for this? To be a father?"
"As long as you're the mother of my child, I'm ready for this."
She smiled. "Who else would want to have your child, ferret?" she said. "No other witch is brave enough to survive living with you."
"There are many ladies who'd love to have my blonde kid. Lavender Brown, Pansy Parkinson, Romilda Vane, Padma Patil and Daphne Greengrass are a few", he smirked. "But you're right, not one of these women can survive with me."
"Why not? Do you bite?"
"Only if you want me too."
"Then why not?"
"Cause I'm only interested in my wife", he answered before tracing small kisses along her neck. "Now about this baby business..."
"Shh", she said, pulling his shirt over his head. "This is no time for talking, Draco Malfoy."
