A/N: Drabble written for the prompt "vacuum" at the delphic expanse.
Life wasn't supposed to exist in the vacuum of space. It was a concept that often bothered Hoshi, who had been persuaded to give up a safe life on Earth to travel the stars. It was ironic, she thought, because she was a linguist, and without technological means, sound couldn't travel in space, either.
Being a person who appreciated a good pun, she smiled as she finally succeeded in her frantic task. The little creature she'd just captured in her cabin, with the help of a Hoover, was still quite lively. It seemed like life could exist in vacuum cleaners.
