Authors Note: I'm writing this in Florida. :D It's warm here. And if your reading my story 'Only Child', I will have it up Sunday or Monday. If your not reading it…you might want to go do so now.
Okay, before you read this, if your playing the game, you now lose the game. If your not playing the game, you are now playing the game. You can not quit the game at any time. Your in it for life. Enjoy! (please don't kill me! *hides under bed*)
As our boys have learned, driving forever on bumpy back roads can get very boring, very fast. What's the best way to entertain yourself? Annoying someone, of course!
'Dean?' asked Sam, laying his head against the window, eyes half closed and nearly bored to death.
'What?' asked a irritated Dean, upset because the cassette player was broken and he couldn't listen to his music.
'Have you ever heard of the game?'
'What game?' said Dean, turning his head slightly and furrowing his eyebrows a bit.
'The Game?' Sam said again, a slightly bemused look on his face.
'What game, Sam?' Dean said again, temper short and anger showing.
'Calm down Dean,' Sam said, hiding a smirk and a chuckle. 'The game is actually called The Game.'
'Oh. No. I haven't.'
'Well, do you want to learn how to play?'
Dean glanced at Sam, smiling slightly before saying, 'Yeah. Sure. How do you play?'
'Well,' said Sam, trying to think of how to best explain The Game, 'once you play, you must keep playing. For life. Are you sure you want to play?'
'Yeah, I'm sure.'
'Positive?'
'Yes Sam, absolutely positive, just tell me how to play the damn game!'
'Okay, okay, calm down,' said Sam, this time unable to hide the smile at Dean's outburst. 'Well, the game is just to not think of the game. If you do, no matter where you are, you must say 'I lost the game.' When you lose the game, you have to wait a half hour till you can lose the game again. Got that?'
'Yeah. You know, that sounds easy enough.'
'It's hard, Dean.'
Dean snorted. 'Yeah. Right.'
And that was the beginning of the game for the Winchester boys.
-2 Weeks Later-
'Sam, I hate you.'
Our boys are driving down another bumping back road, but this time, instead of being bored, they're angry.
'Well, it's not my fault Dean!'
'Sam, we just got our butts kicked repeatedly and all our hunts have taken twice as long as they should have!'
'It's not my fault going on hunts reminds you of the game!'
'You showed me the game!'
At this, Sam gave an exasperated sigh and went back to watching the trees out the window. Dean was the only one stupid enough to ruin hunts because of a silly game.
And there we end it. I really don't know why I wrote this, but we were in the car, driving home for my great grandpa's, and we were playing the game. When I got home, I thought, 'What would happen if Sam and Dean played the game?' This is what I got. Hope you enjoyed it!
…I lost the game.
