A knock sounded on the door down stairs. I descended the steps with ease. Long gone were the days when I had needed arms to catch me when I fell constantly. I opened the door expecting to see my old friend Jessica.

I looked up, instead, into eyes that I never expected to see again. They where hazel. Set into the perfect face of a pale boy, looking to be around seventeen. My smile evaporated off my face.My eyes no longer danced with joy. They had turned as cold as I knew the boy's skin to be. His face didn't mirror my own.

"Bella!" he said my name with all smiles. "I haven't seen you for so long!" His eyes seemed to be searching mine for something.

"Edward," the warmth that I was trying to put into my voice didn't make it. His eyes grew worried.

"I came back," his voice was quiet yet still sweet, "I'm ready to do what you wanted, I'm ready."

I just shook my head. "No." I shook my head again, "You left. I moved on." My voice was matching his in volume, but in nothing else.

"Bella, I-"

I cut crossed him,"You said that you wanted me to live a normal human life. One in which you didn't play a part. You told me to move on, just like you did." I smiled slightly, my eyes sad. brought my hand up to his eye level, "I did." It didn't even take a second for him to realize what was on my finger. It was a ring. A simple gold band. Nothing more.

I watched as he turned around and left. I was afraid that my neighbors would of seen him run. Closing the door I went up into my old room. It was actually now Alice's, my daughter's, room. I went over to the window and locked it. Out of the corner of my eye I thought I saw the rocking chair in the corner go back and forth. When I looked over at the corner where the chair was, it wasn't moving. I shook my head. I must be imagining things.
