Saved by the Doctor's Pockets

Written for those of us who like to pretend Doomsday never happened. The Doctor has many things in his pockets, surely one of them can save Rose.…

Disclaimer- I don't own Doctor Who, so don't sue me. Or sue me, if you want. You'll only get a pile of books, a wooden sword and the little sticker on my wall…

"Rose!" the Doctor cried. "Don't you dare move from that spot!"

"But the lever's come unlocked, gotta fix it, yeah?"

Muttering about apes and their inability to think things through, the Time Lord rummaged through his logic-defying pockets, tossing out biscuits, fruit, a mangled pair of headphones, and was about to start on the second pocket when he noticed the authoress, loyally typing out everything he found.

"Sorry."

"Who ya talkin' to Doctor?"

The authoress smiled at the Fourth-Wall-Seeing-Through Doctor and waved at him to continue his search.

Dreadfully unnerved, the Doctor did as the authoress said, and plunged his hand into one of his pockets.

"Brilliant!" the Doctor exclaimed as he withdrew a collapsible tent pole. With a flick of his wrist the ten foot pole shot across the room and shoved the lever back into place.

Moments later, the Void disappeared and the friends sank to the ground.

"That was a bit close…" Rose muttered.

"Right then! Where to next? There's a lovely little restaurant, just past Sirius that I've been dying to try- they have walls made entirely of coral and the food is harvested right above you on this glass roof- it's absolutely fantastic!" the Doctor paused, reflected upon past events, considered a few things, and began, a bit more slowly, "Or we could visit someplace you'd like to go, Rose. Pick a place, anywhere in the universe, and we'll go there."

"S'pose I've never been to Antarctica. Let's go there!"

The authoress smiled a happy little smile, the kind the writers of fan fiction get when they dramatically change the canon, and who have no fear of the Canon Cannon.

May write a sequel. May even write a series… I've got an idea, why don't you tell me! Just push the little button.
