One Year Six Months
Sew this up with threads of reason and regret
So I will not forget, I will not forget
How this felt one year six months ago I know
I will not forget, I will not forget
Cappie reclined in his bed, reliving his day. He smiled to himself as he thought about Rebecca. He had been happy lately, happier than he had ever been before. Rebecca was … amazing. He couldn't exactly describe what it was that he liked so much about her.
But even though his love life was at an ultimate high at the moment, for some reason he couldn't stop thinking about Casey. Today marked the one year, six month anniversary of their breakup. Smiling, he recalled all the memories they had made together. He hoped he never forgot them, no matter who he was with.
I'm falling into
Memories of you
The things we used to do
Follow me there
A beautiful somewhere
A place that I can share with you
He remembered the first time he saw Casey, standing alone at a rush party. He had never seen a more beautiful girl in his life. They had incredible times together. He had pushed her out of her comfort zone, getting her to do things she wouldn't do with anyone else.
I can tell that you don't know me anymore
It's easy to forget, sometimes we just forget
Being on this road is anything but sure
Maybe we'll forget, I hope we don't forget
But suddenly, something in their relationship had changed. It was like Cappie was a new person, and try as she might, Casey couldn't remember the old him. The one she fell in love with. It was during this period that they had broken up. Sometimes he wished they could've stayed together, but then he realized that that wouldn't be right. They became who they were because they were apart. Besides, he had Rebecca now, and she was more than he could wish for. He knew that somewhere along the line, he would probably forget Casey, and she him. He hoped they didn't though.
I'm falling into memories of you
The things we used to do
Follow me there
A beautiful somewhere
A place that I can share with you
Cappie sighed, turning to look at the clock on the table beside him. Realizing that he had spent 30 mintues walking down memory lane, he decided it was time to do something useful. As he got up, he smiled at a picture of Casey and him which was sitting on his dresser. Somehow, after they had broken up, he had forgotten to throw it away. His first instinct was to reach for it and toss it in the trash, but instead he paused. Smiling to himself once again, Cappie whistled as he left the room.
