Ingel noticed something strange as Ves was asleep beside him. He was wide awake, just pondering life, and found his eyes glancing down to Ves'. He noticed that his hair was covering his face, and thought how that would be uncomfortable for him to take up too, so he gently brushed it away from his face. But then he realised something. This was the right side of his face, and it wasn't black and covered in those bizarre red eyes that always glew.

He looked to the walls in interest. When Ves slept, usually the void would spread to the walls, especially if he was having nightmares. And of course, it was hard to miss the peering red eyes that seemed to watch them from every angle. He glanced to Ves once more, still seeing that his body seemed to be free of the darkness. That was awfully… weird. Maybe it left him when he slept because he was not awake to scare? Ingel found this very confusing.

He sighed, supposing there wasn't really anything he could say or do about this right now. Besides, he doubted Ves would know what was happening. He tilted his head and looked at the ceiling, staring at the red eyes that also made a home on his roof. Ingel then shrugged and made himself more comfortable in his bed, and pulled Ves closer to himself. He kissed his forehead lovingly and tried not to wake him as he held Ves in his arms. Ves was so beautiful and perfect, Ingel wished he'd just be able to look past the single flaw that was not his own choice, and does not define him.

But he supposed he was asking too much. Ves had experienced such an awful childhood, only to experience an awful life of growing up alone and frightened of everything, including himself. He just… selfish as it was, wished that Ves could see himself that Ingel saw him. He hated himself for something that was entirely beyond his own control, and it broke Ingel's heart.

He just wanted to wake up and have Ves smile at him, not shy away because he doesn't want to be looked at it. It made his heartache, knowing that Ves still didn't even really want Ingel to look at him, even though he would tell him time and time again that he was perfect, that he loved everything about him, that he wasn't scared of him. But Ves would always just nod, and continue not wanting to even be looked at.

It was just so sad. He so deeply wished that Ves had grown up normal with his friends and sister. Even if that meant he and Ves never would have met… that would be okay. He would rather Ves be happy and love himself. That's well and truly all he wanted for his sweet angel. Ingel wanted to see a genuine smile. A big smile, one he didn't force or felt like he should display. One that just happens, because he's happy.

But perhaps he was just wishing. However, Ingel would love Ves no matter what happened or if Ves changed even more. There was more to Ves than a bad past and a cursed body. Ingel knew that from the moment he looked at him.

Ingel wanted to see how full of life he was one day. And he was willing to wait as long as he had to.
