Glory

One song

Before I go

Glory

One song to leave behind

He's lying in bed. Blue UV lights shining down on him. He can feel it coming. It's nearly the end. He's done so much in his life yet he's done so little. He wants to leave his mark behind. On the world, his friends, family, colleagues and especially on her. The one person who opened his eyes to the world around him. The one person worth living for.

One last refrain

Glory

From the pretty boy front man

Who wasted opportunity

He was always vain. He always had to have the best of everything. Clothes, accessories, shoes, cars. He was a pretty boy. Whatever he wanted he got. In college he always got the highest scores in English, Italian, Sports and Health but in everything else he just scraped by. He could have played pro ball but injured himself. He shattered his leg. It took him a few years to recover. After that he still had the opportunity but was too scared to take it. He didn't want to push the boundaries and that cost him a career but it's not one of the opportunities that he regrets. It's the opportunity of love that he regrets.

One song

He had the world at his feet

Glory

In the eyes of a young girl

A young girl

Find glory

Beyond the cheap coloured lights

One song

Before the sun sets

Glory – on another empty life

Time flies – time dies

Glory – one blaze of glory

On blaze of glory – glory

Here at NCIS he had the world at his feet. He found everything he ever wanted there. He found great friends which acted like his family. He got along with everyone but always had to have her attention. If it wasn't throwing paper clips or making her laugh it was flirting. His favourite past time with her. Then this happened. He had to open that stupid letter and release the bloody plague. Now here he is; dieing of the pneumonic plague. Who the hell got that these days? Him, that's who. He let most of his life fly by. He was used to going with the flow. Getting what he wanted but he didn't want this. He wants a bit more time to tell her how he feels. Of what's yearning inside of him.

Find
Glory
In a song that rings true
Truth like a blazing fire
An eternal flame

Find
One song
A song about love
Glory
From the soul of a young man
A young man

Find
The one song
Before the virus takes hold
Glory
Like a sunset
One song
To redeem this empty life

Time flies

And then no need to endure anymore
Time dies

He wants to make everything right. He doesn't want to leave her hanging. She comes in to see him and he apologizes for everything. For the crude jokes, the never ending movie quotes, the bantering, the snooping and for loving her. He tells her how much she really meant to him. About what he felt when he saw her. How he wanted to make her his own. He coughs and they both stare at the hanky he's using. It's been splattered with blood. They realise that this could be goodbye. She crawls onto the bed and lays her head on his chest. She clings to him like daughter to her father as he whispers incoherent words of affection in her ear. This could be the end. No more bantering, no more throwing paper clips, no more flirting. Before they know it a few hours has gone by. He's breathing starts to shallow and he closes his eyes. He whispers 4 words to her, "I love you, Katie." and then his heart stops. She runs out of the room and cries into Ducky's shoulder as Abby cried into Gibbs'. It was Tony's time to go. His time on earth had gone but his time in heaven was just beginning but he was planning to wait for her.
