A/N1: Hello people. I'm still pretty new to writing stories, so don't be surprised when you discover that the writing is pretty mediocre.
Disclaimer: I own NOTHING. This belongs all to Suzanne Collins, with whom I have no affiliation. I'm just playing around with her characters and ideas because they're really awesome.
So that's that. Please rate & review!
"I vote yes..." Katniss replied to the question, the question of whether we should or shouldn't send the Capitol children into the final Hunger Games. That threw me for a loop.
Katniss, of all people, should know that punishing the actions of a person by killing children is wrong. She herself was forced into the game that did this, twice. So why is she doing this? Why would she subject 24 other children to the trauma of the Games? When we were in the Games, I could see that she didn't want to kill other people. I also remember her telling me that punishing us for something another generation did isn't going to solve anything.
We should be punishing Snow and his men, not the innocent children. They had no say in about The Hunger Games, just like us. We should be punishing the nexus of the problem, not some random kids.
She already gets to kill Snow, isn't that enough?
She should be the last person advocating for the games. I don't understand why she would want 23 kids dead, and have one living in tremendous guilt. She's seen how people have coped with living through the games - morphling and alcohol. Why would she want to create another addict?
How would we be any different than them? We also forced children to participate in a fight to the death. We're also taking someone's daughter, someone's son, someone's friend, someone's sister, and someone's brother. How can we say that we're better than them?
Fighting fire with fire only creates more fire. Trying to achieve peace with violence is going to create more violence. This is wrong.
"...for Prim." Katniss finished.
How can this possibly be for Prim? I might not know her well, but I doubt that she would want more families to go through this. She wanted to save people's lives, not destroy them. Katniss might want to avenge her death, and that's understandable, but this isn't going to bring back Prim, and this isn't what she would have wanted.
Then, I opened my mouth, and started giving Haymitch reasons of why we shouldn't have a final Hunger Game. A drunk has the final decision.
How reassuring. [If you couldn't tell, that was sarcasm.]
A/N2: So should I continue with this idea? If so, what character should I use next?
