Robin pauses at the edge of the forest to raise his bow and yell to the Sheriff, "Never forget the outlaws!" He is grinning, as if this is all one big joke. Then the joke is abruptly over as they race to rescue Marian. He is too late; she has already saved herself. He can hear the leftover fear in her voice as she tells him to make sure Roland wins. Robin doesn't blame the boy for what he was going to do – he didn't know. The fun of shooting, winning, and getting away with it makes up for the earlier scare. He is slightly disappointed that he can't take credit for the shot, but Roland needs it more. Robin is looking forward to finally relaxing at camp, but along the way Allan starts seeing things. Robin remembers the swallowed plant and sighs. Will helps his sick friend back to camp, where Robin decrees him to be tied up with no food or drink for a day. Will feels bad, but Allan is most certainly not himself right now. It is probably for the best that he is restrained. And then Will remembers that Djaq is a girl, and all attention is on her. Well, all except for Much's attention. He is still trying to decide whether he can eat or not. And no one is thinking of Allan anymore, no one except for Robin. He can't stop looking at Allan's pale, sweaty face and blaming himself. The man wasn't supposed to swallow it, true, but Robin is the one who gave it to him. "He trusted me and I let him down." he thinks.

One by one the members of the gang retire for the night, until Robin is the only one still sitting up, across from the bound man. Allan's fevered eyes suddenly turn to look at Robin. "Robin…" he croaks out through dry lips. Robin wonders if the hallucinogenic effects have worn off as he scoots around to Allan. He grips the younger man's neck. "Allan. I'm sorry." Allan is hot with fever.
"water…" he manages, pleadingly. Robin wrinkles his nose as he thinks about the possible effects, but in the end he can't refuse the man water. He cuts the ropes binding Allan to the tree and supports him as he drinks. Within minutes, Allan is vomiting it back up, now black. Robin grimaces as he holds Allan's weak body. He helps Allan outside the camp and leaves him sitting on a dry log as he goes back. He cleans up the mess and then takes a water skin and Allan's blanket back out with him. The sick outlaw is sitting where Robin left him, swaying slightly and shivering. Robin sits down next to him and wraps the blanket around Allan's shoulders. He grabs onto it and pulls it tighter against himself. Because Allan seems to be delirious, Robin puts his arm around him and lets Allan lean against him and slowly rubs his back. They sit like that, with breaks for drinks and vomiting, until Robin is sure that Allan is done. He helps Allan back to camp and leaves him in bed. Finally, Robin realizes how tired he is, and falls into his own bed. Across the fire, Will lies awake, having intended to help Allan himself. He has seen all that Robin has done, and is surprised because he did not think Robin was capable of it. In the morning, Allan is fine. He and Will are sent to fetch water at the stream. Because they are friends, Will asks Allan how he is feeling. "Hey, mate; I'm good." Allan assures him. And because they are friends, he continues. "Had a weird dream last night while I was out of it. Thought Robin was with me in the forest." And Will smiles, but doesn't damage their leader's reputation.

A week later, Allan is gone. Will wonders if telling Allan the truth at the stream would have made a difference; but consoles himself with the fact that one can never know what would have happened. It was fully Allan's choice to betray them, and it is done now. And yet… Will can't help wondering what might have been.
