Sephiroth turned from his contemplation of the lake as he stood on a cliff above it as a child screamed in terror. To his surprise there was no one behind him. Odd… he thought. The child screamed again. He followed the sound. As he approached the creatures attacking the girl-child fled and the girl fainted. He looked down at the girl for a moment. "I can't leave her here." He muttered. Yes you can, my son. Are you going soft, Sephiroth?A woman's voice asked in his head. Shut up, Mother. Sephiroth replied. He picked the girl. He carried to the house he had rented on the shore of the lake. He laid her on the couch. He walked into the kitchen. He heard a rustling behind him. "W-where am I?" The girl-child asked. He turned taking in details he hadn't noticed before. Her eyes were a deep blue and her hair was black with a single streak of silver. She was thin, terribly thin. She was hurt as well. He stepped toward her and lifted his hand. She flinched. Sephiroth sighed. "Can I have your name?" he asked. The girl-child stared at him. "I'm Mikayla." She said. "My name is Sephiroth and I saved you." He said. Mikayla stared at him. He looked startled as she reached out touching the scar on his face.
