The clock towering above the city read ten past midnight as Lucy Heartfilia raced down the street, a small square package hugged to her chest as she ran. The excitement was plain on her flushed face as she skidded around a corner and sprinted further to her destination. A traveling cloak and blue and bronze scarf billowed behind her as her feet pounded the pavement, her speed increasing as her guild hall came into sight.
"I got it!" The blonde bellowed as she burst through the door, holding the package up with both hands. She wheezed a bit as she tried to catch her breath, peering happily about the hall as the occupants murmured with excitement. The hall had been decorated with red, blue, green, and yellow streamers and there was a cauldron smoking on the bar top with little cups filled with an amber colored liquid surrounding it.
The tables were pushed aside to allow for a large open space that was now filled with an assortment of pillows, bean bags, blankets, and sleeping bags. Everyone settled there was dressed in a set of pajamas and had an assortment of strange items such as wooden wands, fake glasses, colored scarves, and stuffed owls.
"What are you waiting for, Lu?" Levy called out, excitement lacing her voice as she smooshed herself between Erza and Juvia. The floor in front of them was laden with snacks for the long night ahead of them.
"Alright, alright!" Lucy called over the loud agreements of the others. She made her way through the sea of comfort and settled herself into the large bean bag set in the middle.
With slightly trembling hands, Lucy carefully peeled the brown paper back to revel a large book. The cover glistened in the light as the blonde admired the cover. "This is it," She whispered, the others having gone silent as the book came into view.
Opening the book as carefully as she could, Lucy glanced at the summary on the inside flap. With a shaky voice, she read as loud as she could, "We now present the seventh and final installment in the epic tale of Harry Potter…."
