"Hey Darlin', the flight's been canceled, we're snowed in." Mark told his lover, carrying two mugs of hot chocolate into the room and handing one to Shawn. Shawn pulled his blanket and snuggled up next to Mark's warmth, staring at the leaping flames in the fire then glancing out the window at the blizzard outside.

"I can't remember the last time we had this much snow in Texas. Its horrid out there." he muttered, sipping his cocoa. "I hate the cold."

"I know you do Darlin'. Just curl up here with me and stay close to the fire." as he said it, the room went completely dark exept for the dancing flames. Shawn closed his eyes and stiffened.

"Please tell me the power didn't just go out." he whispered.

"Sorry Darlin', the power just went out." Mark told him and Shawn let out a soft moan.

"Shhh." his lover soothed. "You move closer to the fire and I'll go get some more blankets and bring in more firewood."

Shawn crawled off the couch, bringing his big fleece blanket with him, and curled up on the huge rug in front of the fireplace. A few minutes later, Mark came in with a huge pile of firewood and set it on the floor next to the large stone fireplace.

"I'll be right back with the blankets Darlin', sit tight." he reassured Shawn gently. Shawn nodded and waited for Mark to return anxiously. When he did, Mark spread out a bunch of the blankets on the floor to make a makeshift bed for the two of them. He grabbed their hot chocolate from the table and handed Shawn what was left of his.

Shawn sat up, his blanket wrapped tightly around him, and snuggled close to Mark. Both men sat silently, drinking their cocoa. When Shawn finished his, he practically slithered into Mark's lap. Mark chuckled and set his empty cup down. He lay himself and Shawn down, spooning behind his smaller lover under a huge pile of blankets.

"Relax Darlin'," he told Shawn. "I've got ya."

"No power and there's a blizzard outside, how am I supposed to friggin' relax!" Shawn exclaimed. "You know how I am about cold."

"Shhh I know Shawn but nothing is going to happen to you. There's a fire going, we have plenty of firewood, lots of blankets, and you can curl up with me and I'll keep you warm. Calm down ok?"

Shawn sighed and nodded. He rolled over in Mark's arms and buried his face in his shoulder. Mark tightened his grip on Shawn and whispered softly in his ear.

"I won't let anything happen to you Darlin', it'll be alright."

"Hey Mark?" Shawn asked.

"Yes Darlin'?"

"You think if the snow lets up that we can go sledding and have a snowball fight and stuff tomorrow?" Mark looked at him shocked.

"You really want to?" he asked.

"Yeah, I do." Shawn said. Mark smiled at Shawn and kissed his forehead.

"Of course we can."
