History

This story starts as all do in the time of Shinobi, in a place where elements bend to men's will and magic becomes reality, it all starts with one man who changed the world.

The legend really starts, however, with his mother, a princess.

Long ago before the founding of the hidden villages, during an era of endless wars between mankind, a princess by the name of Kaguya decided that it was necessary for one to attain god-like powers in order to stop the conflicts.

For this reason, she consumed the forbidden fruit from the Shinju, the God Tree that appeared once a millennium, gaining the ability to manipulate powerful chakra and allowing her to single-handedly put an end to all the wars that plagued the lands.

When Kaguya gave birth to her son Hagoromo, he inherited the same type of chakra and was able to manipulate it.

However, the Shinju's desire to reclaim its stolen power caused the tree to assume monstrous form of what was christened: the Ten-Tails.

The furious Ten-Tails rampaged throughout the lands until Kaguya's son defeated and sealed the beast within himself, making him the first jinchuriki.

Hagoromo was revered as a god for the virtue of his victory, and with his knowledge and concept of chakra, he traveled across the lands, spreading his ideals and religion, the Shinobi Sect, which eventually came to be known as ninjutsu.

His great deeds and ultimate desire to bring peace to the war-torn world made him widely known as the Savior of this World or Sage of the Six Paths.

Knowing, however that his death would unleash the Ten-Tails back into the world to continue its rampage and reclaim the chakra that humanity now possessed, Hagoromo separated the monster's chakra from its body before using Chibaku Tensei to seal the husk into what would become the moon.

Then, he used his ability, Creation of All Things to divide the chakra into nine fragments that where each given physical form and name.

These forms became known as the Tailed-Beasts.

As time passed, however, Hagoromo ultimately faded into legend. And some things that should not have been forgotten … were lost.

* A lot of what is written is from the Naruto Wiki. I would have no idea about all of this history without it because most of it is made up anyways.

Princess Kaguya is from an actual folktale, however. Its supposed to be the oldest they have ever found or something like that which is pretty cool.

This story will be during mostly canon-Naruto times, but it has to start far in the past so I wanted to give some back-story for people who had no idea about all this. (Like me)

LOTR reference at the end because I love it. *
