Chapter 18-Magic behind the door!

The children were out of the wardrobe and on the floor. Lucy stood up and said, "I told you there was another land called Narnia"

Edmund says, "Yes, you were right! Blah, blah, blah"

"You should be nicer to Lucy. At least she doesn't lie like you do." Peter came to Lucy's defence.

"I wonder if we will ever go back to Narnia" Susan wondered

"We will. When they need us, they will let us know. Aslan will call us." Lucy said

"We just need to keep this a secret, no one can know. So just act as if nothing happened." Peter said looking serious.

They all agreed that they would keep it a secret.

Days and weeks went by and soon the war ended. There were no air raids, so they could go back home and see their mother again. They were happy to hear the news but a bit disappointed to leave. They got so used to the Professor's house.

The day before they were leaving, the children were in their rooms packing their bags.

"I'm really going to miss this place. The Professor is an old dear." Susan said

"We'll have to go to school again." Edmund complained

"We had enough time off." Said Peter.

The others were so deep in the conversation, that they didn't notice Lucy sneak out of the room. Now you probably know where she went. For those who still don't know, she went to the room with the wardrobe.

Lucy stood in front of the wardrobe with the door open.

"I wonder if I can go to Narnia again." Lucy thought.

The others finally noticed and they knew exactly where Lucy went. Lucy put one foot in and suddenly Peter said, "Lucy stop!"

Susan walked over to Lucy, "You said yourself that Aslan will call us when he needs us."

"I know" Lucy cried, "it's just…I really want to go back!"

"Maybe we can go to Narnia. What if we go through the wardrobe and get to Narnia? Does that mean that they need us again?" Edmund asked

Peter looked at Susan then said, "Maybe we can but if we can't, then we'll let it go."

Lucy was excited that she went, "Yes! Yes!"

They were now all in the wardrobe, walking forward then Susan stopped, "That's it. No Narnia. Only nice, hard wood."

"No adventures for us tonight" Edmund said as he turned around.

Lucy wasn't happy about this, she really wanted to see Mr Tumnus and the Beavers.

In the morning Lucy was up before the others. Breakfast wasn't ready so she decided to explore the house. She went in all the rooms except the one with the wardrobe in it. The other told her not to go in. By the time she finished exploring, the others wee up.

"Where's Lucy?" asked Susan

"I don't know" replied Peter, "you don't think that she would go back in the wardrobe, do you?

"I'm going to check." Edmund started walking out of the room, the others followed. Just then Lucy started walking back and was in front of the wardrobe room.

"Lucy, there you are!" exclaimed Susan.

"We thought you were back in that wardrobe" Peter laughed.

"No you told me to keep out of it." said Lucy. Suddenly, there was a loud noise in the wardrobe room. The children looked at each other. Then Edmund asked, "Everyone heard that right?"

"I think so" Peter replied, then opened the door. And they couldn't believe their eyes. Behind the door was a screen with the Beavers on it. They were going to a party. There was food, music, dancing and things that you would do at parties. There was Mr Tumnus too but they couldn't hear the children. The children watched the animals silently. At the end the screen disappeared and magic dust appeared.

"See Lu, they are fine." said Peter.

"Happy and safe." Edmund left the room.

And Edmund was right, the animals wee happy and safe but also free thanks to the children.
