She stood in the darkness of the night, away from the lit up house full of life, and under the night light of twinkling stars. The wind blew cold air past her shoulders, shivers rippling through her being. The yellow moon cast a glowing haze across her face like it was built to seek her out in the dark.

"Hey, what are you doing out here?" A dark silhouette she could pick out anywhere strolled over to her small frame in the brisk December air. She turned to see his face, the lights from decorations glinting in her eyes.

"Just needed to get away I guess" She shrugged her slim shoulders uneasily like she wasn't entirely sure what she was doing standing out in the dark on Christmas Eve. The noise and holiday cheer had been getting under skin. Some many unanswered questions would roam freely around her mind, itching at the walls, hungry for answers.

"Why'd you break up with Kelsi?" She referred to her best friend who'd just been broken up with by the boy standing before her. She had thought everything was great between them and they both liked each other a lot. But she was wrong, and can't figure out why. It was like a knife cutting into her skin. Two of her best friends breaking up for no reason left her terribly confused.

He shrugged his broad shoulders next to her, looking to the ground rather than her questioning face. "She's no you." Her breath hitched getting caught in her throat. What did he mean? Kelsi was madly in love with this boy and now he liked her? How were you supposed to explain something like that to your friend? She couldn't think of anything else except for Kelsi's reaction to her dating him. Of course she'd be mad… right?

"Troy…" She shook her head insanely, destroying his chances of them getting together.

"No." He said sternly, catching her eye in the moonlight. "I'm tired of living my life around other people. I love you Gabriella. We've been friends since we could walk, I think its time it gets out." She stared wide eyed up at him shockingly. Not that she hadn't liked him since she could remember, she just never thought… How could he like me? He gazed upon her smooth olive toned skin with hope of her returning his finally spoken feelings.

She debated with herself silently, eyebrows twisting into a knot of confusion. She wasn't expecting this at all. She'd always thought she would be the one doing the swooning and that he would move on with other girls while she watched. Her coffee colored eyes explored his cobalt orbs tenderly. A sudden wave of passion washed over her and she stood on her toes smashing they're lips together, causing a bruise but also sending sparks of cosmic fury to fly. He gripped the sides of her face desperately and she pulled on the hair that hung on the base of his neck.

Finally breaking away the couple caught they're breath under the stars as the crisp white flakes of snow began to fall. Christmas Eve was never this good.

Ksoo,

Here's my Holiday present to you guys for being so supportive. I'm going to try to post more of NSU the day after Christmas or so. I know this wasn't much, it's kind of just a five hundred word drabble. Anyway, enjoy.

XoXo Mare :]
