The Confession.
According to his teachers and fellow classmates, Kyôraku Shunsui was many things. Lazy, drunkard and womanizer were his dinstincful traits. But for all his flaws, Shunsui had a really good quality: he was a romantic. All of his conquests –males and females- agreed on that: he was a very sweet and tender lover. Therefore, Kyôraku Shunsui always thought that if he were to meet Love, his True Soulmate, he would confessed his love with poetry, flowers, in a romantic place on a romantic moment. In short, wiyh all the clichés you could expect for that sort of thing. Instead, he blurted a "I love you" to Ukitake Jûshirou while having a tray in his hands in the dining hall of the Shinigami Academy. And as he thought of all the ways to disappear –because there's no way someone could take such a lame and horrible confession seriously-, Jûshirou stunned him by replying with a smile:
"I know. I love you too. Now, could you move please? Others are waiting.
How do you know that i'm serious?
You didn't declame poetry nor called me by an affectuous nickname."
Two thousand years later, Kyôraku Shunsui still thanks the gods to have made his Jûshirou so smart.
