Of Polyjuice and Polar Bears

It was winter again, Hermone, Ron and Harry were gathered around a simmering cauldron of polyjuice potion.

"What do you reckon 'arry? Should we take a sip and transform into something nice and wooly?"

"We could always leave the PJ alone and build a nice.. castl...towe... i mean igloo or something.."

"Right what with?"

"Well, we could tear down a part of Hogwarts, I'm sure no one will notice.. It's such a sprawling old place."

"Errr.. What if Jeeves catches us? Or worse, Ms Nora?!"

"I mean.. look at this run-down place. The blocks are -already- crumbling. All we have to do is to stack them up so they don't collapse and bury us alive see?"

"Or we could give our owls some potion to see if they transform into something big, feathered, and snuggly.. like a condor?"

"For The love of Merlin's Beard! All you think about is the optimistic part. What if they are thinking about earthworms or such. Imagine our owls eating each other!"

"Well, sorrs then - hadn't thought that far old chap."

"Guess its down to either the potion or the igloo then.."

"We could transform into polar bears, then build our igloo. Sure would be a lot easier lifting the blocks then."

"Cor Blimey" "Crikey"

"Good Idea!" They Chorused.

So they took sips of the potion every few hours and built their little ice hut, which kept them comfortably warm throughout the cold, cold winter. They seemed oblivious to the fact that Hermonie's fur was a shocking red, Harry's was black, and Ron's was brown. Perhaps they thought the sample polar bears they saw were all oldielocks, like Dumbledor.

Of course, there were side effects to it, like succumbing to the overwhelming urge to eat fish raw, but that couldn't be helped.

It was just as well that they ran out of potion before Winter went out, for if Nora were to stumble upon them, she might well be just another snack.
