Intertwined
Asakura Yoh leaned back in his chair, surveying the room. It was early, so early that the sun had not yet risen, and the room was shrouded in shadow. Yoh could barely make out the outline of the TV that his fiancée, Anna, was so fond of, and the house was so quiet, that Yoh believed if he just closed his eyes and concentrated, he would be able to hear Anna breathing deeply in sleep.
It was times like this - when the world seemed so still and quiet - that Yoh found he was really able to think. When the seconds felt like minutes, and the wind seemed immobile - yes, that was Yoh's favorite time. And, surprisingly enough, the person that was usually dedicated to these times was Anna.
Although Yoh was too afraid to admit it to Anna, he loved her. There was something about her strength, both spiritual and otherwise, that, although it had at first repelled him, now entranced him. During his battle with Hao, he had realized just how much he meant to her. Maybe, even enough to-
"Good morning." Yoh turned around slowly to see the object of his thoughts standing behind him.
"Ah, good morning to you too." Yoh smiled, mentally tucking his thoughts away.
"What are you doing up this early? It's not like you to be awake…" Anna let her voice trail off as she walked over to Yoh.
"I just felt like thinking." Yoh smiled again, and leaned back once more, settling himself comfortably against his chair.
"Hmm." Anna sat down next to Yoh, and when Amidamaru came back from his nightly visit with Mosuke, he was surprised to see the two of them fast asleep, hands clasped tightly, resting on the arm of Yoh's chair.
My first Shaman King fic…not sure if I really like it. But you should let me know if you do! I take requests (especially since I've had no ideas recently) and I do write the occasion sequel. Slash side story. Slash follow-up.
