Another unusual pairing I thought I'd try. I decided to use the more sensitive side of Kelso we sometimes see for this. I'm also planning on writing a longer story with the same pairing from Elliot's POV. Please review, but don't please don't flame just because you don't like the pairing.
I know I make her nervous. She was trying to take some blood today, and when she saw me, her hands started shaking so much I didn't know how she was going to be able to do it. Luckily, Nurse Espinosa saw, and closed the curtains around the bed. She glared at me. I don't know why she thinks I'm scared of her. I'm not scared of anyone in this place. Why would I be? I could fire them whenever I wanted to.
At lunchtime, I sat myself down at the table next to her and Dr. Dorian. She nearly choked on her pasta when she saw me. She whispered something to him and he looked over me and shook his head. He whispered back to her. I heard the words "wants you to mess up" and "safety net my ass." She laughed at that, so I planned to take her off the night shift and put him on it instead. She looks like she could use some sleep anyway. She's often got dark rings round her eyes. I see her putting makeup on to cover them, even though she pretends she doesn't wear any. She runs her hands through her hair when she's tired too. She's been doing that a lot recently.
In the afternoon, I decided to give her a break. I didn't want her to be too scared to do her job. I just happened to be on the ward though, and I couldn't help looking at her. She still looked nervous. She kept looking around for me. I think she could tell I was there. She called Nurse Espinosa over to put a fresh bandage on Mrs Carter's leg instead of doing it herself. God knows what she would've done to mess that up if she was nervous. She probably would've bandaged the wrong leg or something! She came round to the other side of the pillar I was standing behind and saw me. I pretended to be checking a chart, but she wasn't buying it. Why would she? She's too clever for that.
"Why do you always watch me?" she demanded, finally snapping. "Do you want me to kill someone or something? Because I will if you carry on like this!"
"I'm watching you, Dr Reid, to make sure you don't kill anyone. I don't think you can be trusted with something as important as a person's life."
She glared at me and muttered something about me being selfish and not really caring about people and all the usual stuff taught to the interns by Perry before storming off to the other end of the ward. I followed her, of course, ignoring the looks she kept giving me as she made sure she worked extra carefully. She's a competent doctor. In fact, she's better than competent. I won't let her know that though. I need an excuse to watch her.
