Harry Potter

Post Battle of Hogwarts

It was over. All the screams, shrieks and terror were finally over. Even though the battle ended, we couldn't celebrate. So many people were lost in this chaos. Fred was gone. Hermione couldn't believe it. He was always so happy and full of life. Now, he was gone. How can she be thinking this way when Ron just lost his brother?

Hermione began to search Hogwarts to find him. She checked the Great Hall where he saw all the bodies and the mourning families, but not Ron. She saw the rest of the Weasley family crying over Fred's body. She finally found him sitting in the corner of the Gryffindor common room.

"Ron" Hermione said in a soft whisper.
Ron turned around with teary eyes and a lifeless expression on his face.
"What is it?" He said.
"I just wanted to see how you were doing." Hermione said.
Ron didn't say anything for a while, he just looked at Hermione.
"Hermione" Ron said.
"Yes?" Hermione said.
"Do you think it was my fault?" He said.
"No, it wasn't your fault. You were so brave and you did everything you could." She said.
Ron's eyes lit up slightly.
"You really think that I was brave?" Ron said.
"Of course I do." Hermione said.

Ron and Hermione just stared at each other for a while.
"Hermione"
"Yes?"
"Why did you kiss me?"
"Um" was all Hermione could really say.
After thinking she said, "I kissed you because you always teased me about caring for the house elves, and then you were the one who remembered them, not me."
"Oh" Ron said.
"Is something wrong?"
"Well, I wanted to be the one to kiss you first, not the other way around."
"I don't see why that is a- "
Hermione was cut of by Ron's lips against hers.

"I wanted to be the one to kiss you first because I love you."
Hermione smiled back at Ron and said, "I love you too."
