A/N: hey. So this is my first Loving Annabelle fic and I've written it on my new tablet so if there are errors I'm sorry, I'm still working out how to type properly on it. Anyway, hope you enjoy and please review.
Reality
Simone groaned as she woke up. Trying to roll over she found herself restricted by an arm around her waist. For a moment she froze, uncertain, before remembering that it was Annabelle. It had been almost a month of the same thing happening but Simone still wasn't used to having the younger woman with her.
Annabelle had appeared within days of the charges being dropped and Simon had never been so happy to see another person. Annabelle had wrapped Simone in her arms and in a cliché but welcome move, picked the older woman up and swung her around in circles. Both had been so relieved to see each other again after fearing they would be permanently separated. That hadn't meant that they didn't have to sit down and spend a long time discussing everything, Simone was scared that Annabelle wouldn't want to settle down, that she would eventually find someone younger. Annabelle had been scared that Simone hated her for causing Simone to lose her job and deal with all the legal issues she had been forced into. They had talked it all out and found a balance, reassuring the other that their fears were unfounded.
Simone still couldn't believe her good luck. She had found the person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with, something she thought was impossible after Amanda's death. Yet here she was, wrapped up in the warm embrace of the young woman she was madly in love with. That didn't mean she was used to it though.
She had lost her job and whilst her photos were selling, she would prefer a more stable employment, something she wasn't sure she could get given the reason she lost her old job. Her family refused to acknowledge her and she had lost most of her friends. Yet amongst all that she had gained more. After being dragged to a family dinner by Annabelle she had gained a new family. Annabelle's parents had pulled her aside to say how much Annabelle had grown as a person since she met Simone. How Simone had changed her for the better. They had said that while they were not initially thrilled by the idea of them, Annabelle's explanation that she had perused Simone and that Simone had tried to keep things professional had warmed them to the idea, and that after meeting her they couldn't have picked someone better for their daughter themselves. Simone had been welcomed into the family and she wouldn't deny that she loved it. Annabelle had mellowed out with Simone around and no longer felt the need to rebel which had allowed her to actually talk to her mother and sort their differences out. But it wasn't only Annabelle's family she had gained. Annabelle's friends (surprisingly not that many since Annabelle liked a more quiet set of friends to the people she had around her because of her wealth and her mother's position) had also accepted her and through them she had gained the confidence to find her own as well. Despite everything she had lost she was happy.
As she felt Annabelle stirring next to her, she felt lips on her bare shoulder and her body completely relaxed.
[This is my reality now. I couldn't want anything more.] was her last thought before Annabelle's lips gently settled against her own.
