Betrayed.
She'd been betrayed.
But this wasn't the first time.
Somehow, that only proved to make her feel worse. And, well, if anything could make her feel worse than this, then it must have been bad. At the moment she was on the ground, fallen in battle. And she'd been stabbed in the heart.
Literally.
Of course, she'd been figuratively stabbed more times than this. But those times didn't even compare to how she felt right now. Cast aside. Rejected. It was more real than any time before because this time he'd actually finished it. He'd shown her that it was the end of it all for them.
The closure that it should have brought was only accompanied with pain. And what was all this pain for? A reason she wasn't even important enough to know.
Then again, he had never told her where he was going.
Betrayed again.
She'd been betrayed again.
Somehow, that only proved to be redundant and expected. She almost couldn't believe that she was that girl. The one who kept going back, who kept believing despite the fact that it was clear he'd only leave her again.
In a way, she wasn't. She'd always tried not to be. She'd gotten stronger to prove to herself that she didn't need him. That she could be just fine on her own. She'd always prided herself on being a strong woman and tried to help other women she knew to be as strong as they could be.
Too bad it didn't work the way she'd wanted it to, seeing as she was about to die because of him.
In the end, she just wasn't strong enough.
