Kirk stood over the unconscious form of Khan. He knew that even though he was out cold, he was still incredibly dangerous. Part of him knew the man was far too untrustworthy to allow him to live but at the same time, he knew that Khan deserved a chance… a fair trial…a defence. He could hear Admiral Marcus yelling at him to just kill the man, that he was too unpredictable and powerful.
Instead Kirk ignored the orders and dragged Khan to the platform so he could chain him to the bar. Kirk knew he was probably making a mistake but he didn't care. He slapped Khan awake to make sure that he was Ok.
As soon as Khan opened his eyes Kirk knew he had messed up. His eyes were full of fire and hatred. He ripped the chain from his wrist and the last thing Kirk saw was how beautiful Khan's eyes were and how passionate the man looked.
Kirk woke up alone in the room except for Khan. Khan had either killed or beamed everyone else out of the ships bridge beforehand and now it was just the two of them. Khan was sat at the computer typing, trying to pull the ship out of its uncontrollable spiral. The ship was plummeting towards earth, accelerating towards terminal velocity.
Khan glanced up at that moment and caught Kirk's eye. They both stared at each other for what felt like forever, though could only have been a few moments, before Khan turned sharply away. Before Kirk could realise what was going on, he felt the slight tingle that came before a teleportation.
When Kirk reappeared on a satellite he was confused. Why had Khan beamed him to this safe location when he could have just let him die in the crash… unless? Khan obviously cared about him if he wanted him to survive. Kirk smiled to himself as he realised Khan must feel the same way he does. Suddenly Kirk realised that not only was Khan in danger, his crew and the cities below were also at risk. He rushed about trying to find a way back to the ship. He had to save his friends… and his love.
