"James! Come on! PULL!" I held on to his hand as he tried to pull me out of the trick stair that I had so stupidly walked in. "PULL!"

How did I get here? Let's go back a few hours.

"WHAT? You're head boy?" I felt a bit weak in the knees as I stared at James Potter wearing a shiny head boy badge almost identical to mine. "How is this possible? Are you sure you didn't steal it?"

He smiled. "No, I didn't steal it. I really am Head Boy, but I didn't know you would be Head Girl. An added bonus, I suppose. Hey, did you know that we have to patrol Hogwarts every night?"

I gritted my teeth. "Yes. I. Know."

His expression didn't even change. "I'll be seeing you tonight." He said, as if he was taking me out. As if. Please.

"Yes. I suppose you will."

The rest of the day moved on pretty fast. I listened attentively while everybody else fooled around. It was pretty much the same as usual. I dreaded, however, patrolling with him. Him, the boy who had been chasing me for six years just HAD to be the head boy while I was head girl. What are the odds?

Later on, I walked out to meet him.

"Hello, Lily." His tone was warm and friendly.

"Hello, James." I said, quite coolly and crisply, if I do say so myself.

That was the only conversation for half an hour. After that, however, he spoke, seeming to get over the slight.

"So, Lily how was your summer?"

"Fine." I replied, in the same cool tone. It was best to stick to one-word responses.

Then, yet again, half an hour of silence. And again he chose to break it.

"Hey, Lily, -"

I cut him off. "Can't you just shut up? I don't want to talk to you! The only reason I'm still putting up with this is because I want to be Head Girl. Understand?"

Then, in the middle of my rant, I heard a squelching sound. I had walked into the trick stair.

He smirked. "That was what I was going to tell you. I would go for help, but you just told me to shut up, so…"

Now I put on my mask of remorse. "Please, James, please??"

"I want something in return."

"What?"

"Kiss me."

"No."

Half an hour of silence.

"Kiss me."

"No."

Half an hour of silence.

"Kiss me."

"Fine. Just get me out." I braced myself.

And his lips pressed against mine. The feeling was actually quite magical, so I kissed him back. Finally, I realized that I was still in the stair. "James, can you get me out now?"

"What? Oh, yeah, sure. Sorry. Just caught up in the moment."

That's how I got caught in Hogwarts' notorious trick stair, and that's why I'm allowing James to pull me out and take me to Hogsmeade.

"PULL, James, PULL!"

A/N: How did you like it? Just something I came up with after rereading the series.  Review! You know you want to!
