Hanji had left Levi home alone with their daughter. She needed more diapers and a few other things. She didn't want to leave Levi alone, knowing that his patient would wear thin, but he was finishing up a report for his boss.
Hanji had left a small list, just in case Levi needed anything.

As if on cue, the moment left the house, the baby began to cry.

"You've got to be kidding me." He groaned as he got up from his desk.

He walked over to the baby's room and saw her kicking her blanket off. "Hey, hey, shh, shh." Levi said softly as he picked her up.

"What's the matter, you love Mom more than me or what?"

She responded with another cry. "Sheesh, okay, stop. I'm gonna en up deaf sooner like this." He muttered as he rocked her gently.

Levi patted her bottom, "Oh. I see, that explains a lot." One clean diaper later, both father and daughter sat in the living room. After the birth of their daughter, the living room had turned into a separate nursery. Blankets, soft toys and books laid everywhere.

Levi made a 'tch' sound, "Listen, you stay here and I'll clean up a bit." She only replied with giggle and baby chatter.

"Right, yes. Talking to the baby, what's she gonna say, 'Sure go ahead.'"

Levi shook his head and began to pick up the toys all over the floor and dropped them into the playpen. He did not notice, when the baby crawled over to one of the chairs and pulled herself up. She let out a happy shriek which startled Levi.

He turned around fearing the worst when he saw her standing next to the chair, her legs shaking.

"Oh, shi-, you scared me! Your like your mother, yelling for everything." "Yes, sweetie, I know you can stand. But can you walk?"

She jumped up and down on her legs, still gripping the edge of the chair. She let out another happy shriek. Levi found himself smiling and walked over towards her. Once he was at least a a foot or two from her, he crouched to the floor and extended his arms to her.

"Hey, come over." She suddenly got quiet and stared at him with her big brown eyes. "Just like Hanji's," he thought to himself.

"Can you walk? Don't you want to walk?" She continued to stare at him, before speaking gibberish. Levi rolled his eyes, "Figures. She only does these types of things for Hanji."

Much to his surprise, the little girl began to move from the chair. With small, awkward steps she began to walk towards Levi. By now Levi had a very rare smile spreading over his face.

"That's right, come to Daddy! Come on!" She giggled and continued to walk over to him. A little smile was also on her face. She reached his outstretched arms and Levi swooped her up in a hug.

"Look at you! Aren't you something! Just wait till your Mother hears this, she's gonna flip or burst out of excitement." "You missy, deserve a snack. Even if you always make a mess with the Cheerios."

Only in her wildest dreams did Hanji ever imagine she was going to get married, much less have a daughter. She felt her heart swell when she got home and found Levi and their little girl together. Levi had the baby in his lap and he was reading a book to her.

Well, more like trying, because she kept touching the book and trying to take it out of his hands. She never imagined she was going to have a family if her own. Hanji set down the bags from the store and walked over to them.

"Guess whose back?" At the sound of her voice, the baby began to squirm under Levi's hold. Hanji laughed as Levi tried to hold her down and shei sat next to Levi on the sofa.

Levi passed her the baby, and muttered a thanks. Hanji rolled her eyes and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

"How was she?" Hanji asked, as she kissed her daughter.

Levi smirked, "You never believe what happened."
