Written for The "Can You Prank *Character*" Competition - round one: Hermione Granger by la z boy.
Hermione woke up, feeling groggier than usual. She had stayed up late studying for OWLs, even though it was only the first day of March.
She swung her legs over the edge of her bed, and spared a glance at the calender. Wait! It was Monday? Already? Hermione looked at the time. She jumped up! She was going to be late! How could she have forgotten to turn on the alarm on her clock? Thinking back to it, Hermione was almost sure that she had turned it on.
Hermione ran into the bathroom, brushed her teeth quickly, and, not even looking in the mirror, ran to the Great Hall.
Once she arrived, she sat in her usual spot between Harry and Ron, and immediately began spooning things onto her plate to eat, missing the glances Harry and Ron were sharing.
A few minutes later, most of Gryffindor table was laughing. "What's so funny?" Hermione asked, confused.
"Your teeth... they're green! And purple, and now they're neon orange!" Dean answered, snorting.
Hermione gasped, and looked at her reflection on her plate. Her teeth were... they were changing colours! Harry and Ron snickered as Hermione attempted to put her teeth to rights, as did most of her classmates. Hermione took a sip from her goblet and swished the juice around in her mouth, trying to get rid of the colours, but almost spit the liquid out, it tasted disgusting!
Suddenly, Ron turned towards Hermione, accidentally knocking the contents of her glass onto her face. A whispered drying charm later, Hermione began eating again, determined not to let her teeth bother her. There was more laughter.
"What is it now?" she yelled.
"Your face matches your teeth" yelled a first year from down the table.
Hermione shrieked, and ran from the Hall. What a disaster! She was going to be late to class!
Madam Pomfrey turned out not to be very helpful, as she couldn't change her skin and teeth back to their original colour.
"I'm sorry dear, once again" She called after Hermione.
"It's alright. I'd better get to class, goodbye!"
"Miss Granger!"
"Yes?"
"It's Sunday."
Meanwhile...
"It serves her right!" Ron announced.
"Yeah, she'd better not study so hard we never see her!" agreed Harry.
"You think that's why we pranked her?" Ron asked.
"Yeah..."
"No!" Ron hit Harry's arm "She forgot my birthday. It seems you did too..."
