A/N: I love when I try so hard to plan out a fanfic with my normal ships and I get sidetracked, but then this shows up out of nowhere and I just have to finish it. Oh, well, it was fun. :]
Disclaimer: Not mine.
He thinks she'll just be another pair of lips to make out with.
She leans in, about to kiss him, so close he can smell red velvet cupcakes, and…
She giggles.
Softly at first, but then it's a full blown strand of "hee hee hee"s, and they both pull away sharply.
"What's so funny?" he asks in bewilderment.
She brushes back a lock of vibrant red hair and tries to stop laughing. "Hee hee… Um, you made me think of my dog, and then I remembered his meatball nose."
"Meatball nose?" He wrinkles his own nose, which makes him look like Mickey even more. "Can we just make out already? What do meatballs have to do with anything?" he snaps.
It's like a bucket comes out of nowhere and pours ice cold water on her. She's shocked and confused. The boy's sandy blond hair and chocolate brown eyes seem less magical, not like those handsome princes from the Disney movies she watches over and over. Then she's angry. Here it comes, like word vomit.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Cat Valentine screeches. The snack that she's been saving in her bag ends up all over Logan Reese's face, and she jumps up from the bench and stalks off angrily.
Logan licks his lips and tastes the red velvet cupcake crumbs. A strawberry smell lingers in the air and mixes with the taste of red velvet cupcake on his tongue, and he imagines that's what kissing Cat tastes like.
Two months later, he kisses Quinn Pensky for the first time and decides he likes the taste of coffee, chocolate, and vanilla more.
