In which Afeni leaves a note on Seraphi's shrine.
Dear Grandmother,
I often visit your shrine in times of strife, it's oddly comforting, I feel as though you're listening even though the odds are stacked against that particular notion, but even graven in stone I recognize the potency of your presence, as I know mother does too.
I have always lived a very sheltered life, as you probably knew from the miniscule interactions with me during my infancies, mother taught me to smile and curtsy and master any and all requirements and expectations thrust upon me, and I know she loves me very much, as I do her…but…
We're falling apart, grandmother.
The House of Abrasax is descending into ruin because you are not present to maintain order, and I do not speak only of Abrasax Industries….I speak of the wreck that is our family…Uncle Titus is in prison..and uncle Balem…well…the less spoken of that matter the better, and mother….I try to be strong for her, so I smile and curtsy and endeavour to be the daughter she can be proud of, I know she misses you dearly, maybe because I miss you most of all, and yet I hardly knew you…
P.S. Mother does listen to you sometimes, she insists I am to refrain from using RegenX until I'm at least fourty :)
With love,
Afeni Seraphi Abrasax
xx
