Katherine The Teenage Witch

Do you ever get that feeling that your life sucks, well I am getting that feeling right now. Here I was expecting a normal 16th birthday with my mum and my aunts Hilda and Zelda, but of course instead my family decide to play a joke on me by saying I am a witch. It's bad enough that I had to move from Boston to a stupid small town, I also have to start a new school and leave my dad behind. I had a great life with just my mum, dad and me but as it grew closer and closer to my birthday, mum and dad started acting weird. Then they told me that we were moving to their home town to live with my aunts, it got worse when I realised that my dad wasn't coming with us. Apparently he had to stay for his work, but couldn't see why he couldn't get another job in a garage. So here I am getting ready for my first day at a new school in the middle of a semester.

I stared at myself in the mirror and turned a few times looking at my outfit. I was wearing a purple ruffled skirt a black sweater and my favourite knee high black boots. I guess this will have to do for my first day. I sighed and grabbed my backpack and looked around my new room for my notebook. Apparently this use to be my mum's old room when she lived here and it hadn't changed much. My mum said that I could do whatever I wanted to it, but I liked it the way it was. My bed was up against the wall with dark blue covers and the quilt my Granma gave me. There was a wardrobe and Chester drawers that kept all my clothes, and my favourite part of my room was the big comfy chair by the window, where I couldn't imagine myself sitting and reading a book.

I grabbed my notebook and went down the stairs towards the kitchen.

"Morning," my mom and aunt said.

"Yeah what's so good about it," I replied.

"Oh come on sweetie it won't be so bad," said my mom trying to comfort me.

I sighed and muttered "whatever."

We sat in silence eating our breakfasts until the phone rang and I jumped up the answer it.

"Hello," I answered hopefully.

"Hey Kate, how are you," the person on the other line said.

"Hi dad, I'm fine I really don't want to go the this stupid school," I replied more cheery.

It had been an entire week since I had seen my dad and I really missed him. I don't know why but my dad and I were really close and I really wished he could be here to give me a big hug and tell me everything was going to be alright.

"I know you don't like this, really I think it's for the best. Now gone on and have a great day at school." He answered.

"Ok I will try, love you."

"Love you too."

I hung up the phone and turned around to see my mum and aunts watching me, they were obliviously eavesdropping. I walked over to the table and grabbed my bag and the walk towards the front door. I could hear chair scrapping indicating that they were following me.

"Where are you going," mom asked.

"Um to school," I replied.

"Kate you are going to have talk to me some time."

"No I don't, you took me anyway from my friends and dad."

"One day you will understand all this witch stuff"

I huffed. "Again with the witch rubbish, ok it was really funny on my birthday but now it's just old."

I turned around, grabbed my coat and walked out the door. As I was closing it my aunt Hilda shouted, "Don't point at anyone." My family is crazy, I thought to myself.

Little did I know today was going the most interesting and upsetting day of my life.

Just a short chapter to see what people think of it. Enjoy.
