Thor let out a hefty sigh, melancholy leaking through his azure eyes as he let the great hammer hit the floor with a loud thud. He ran a dry, cracked hand through his golden locks as a small defeated moan left his lips.
"Brother, why do you hurt me so?" he wondered out loud, desperation clinging onto ever word. He felt a hand on his arm, startled he locked onto a pair of amber eyes gazing up at him.
"Lady Stark?" he asked questioningly, his fingers unconsciously flexing towards Mjolnir as she smiled gently at him.
"Do not be alarmed, Thor. I am here on good terms," she said, flicking a piece of her choppy black hair out of her face. Thor shifted his body around to face her and frowned.
"Why are you here? Is my brother not well?" he asked, frowning again as she let out a small laugh.
"Loki is fine, Thor. It was my brothers company I was after today," she said, pulling her long legs up and crossing them, the hem of her white summer dress sliding up her thigh. Thor's shoulders fell slightly, and he returned to looking at the floor.
"Yet Loki did not come to see me," he murmured. Jasmine rested her head against the thunder gods shoulder, and slid her hand into his, squeezing gently.
"It does not mean he loves you any less," she said finally, as she felt the weight of Thor's head rest upon hers. She felt him release a small of sigh of disbelief.
"Im not sure I can believe he loves me at all, at least not these days," Thor said, closing his eyes and chewing on his lower lip, a habit which Loki had often scolded him for as a child.
"And why would you think that?" Jasmine asked, her own amber eyes focused on the city below, the tiny cars resuming their normal daily routine, unaware of the 2 that sat on the roof of Stark tower, observing the scene below. Thor lifted his head and looked down upon her, his crystal eyes watery.
"If he loves me so, then why does he fight? Why must we always be at war?" he asked her, his confusion deepening as Jasmine started to laugh, her honey eyes lighting up in the same devious way as Loki's. Those two were well suited.
"Oh Thor! Think of it as this, I also fight against you, but do you think it means I love my brother any less?" she asked, stretching those long arms above her head as Thor shook his head.
"It is true, that you love Tony more than anything. Even more so, I dare say, than you love my brother. But I still can not understand why you both chooses to fight us?" he questioned.
"We fight against those we love for the cause that we believe in," Jasmine smiled. The two gazed at each other for a moment, Thor not quite accepting her words.
"Does he not tell you often he loves you?" Jasmine grinned, leaning back on her hand as the sun beat down across her face.
"Of course."
"And yet you can not bring yourself to believe the words of a lie-smith."
And that was when it hit him.
"I have allowed Loki's reputation to stand in the way," Thor reasoned, more with himself than with Jasmine. Jasmine nodded, pushing herself up off the ground.
"We will fight, Thor. We will fight this war, with everything that we have and we will not hold back. I promise you that," she said, as she turned to leave. "Love has nothing to do with it. It will always be as strong now as it was many moons ago."
And with that, she disappeared inside the building, leaving Thor with is thoughts and his guilt. He looked up towards the sky, and smiled, a small flutter in his stomach telling him that perhaps there was still hope. And he will fight for it with a ferocity not known in this world. For Asgard. For Loki. For Love.
